Because the SEC isn't the only place in which he can showcase his talents. And Miami is probably a lot more fun of a place to live as a 20 year old with hundreds of thousands of dollars. The same thing that you are saying about Miami has been said previously about teams like Michigan, Washington, FSU, etc and all of those teams have made the playoff, and still have a chance with the expansion.

The area around the University of Miami makes the area between LSU and I-10 look like Beverly Hills. It is breath taking just outside the campus in Miami.

Well, the sign of him going elsewhere tends to bold well for future recruits. I would say his decision states something good in the near future. Also, he may come back in the fold, but if everything finishes like it is expected - he will be at Miami and then in portal the following year.
