This was 100% not a troll post, I just didn’t expect ND to be #1 for 2025 at any point.

7 of their 17 commits are 3 stars dumbass they’re only “#1” because of volume. That class won’t be top 10 by the end of summer

LSU raised BK’s recruiting floor, and Freeman raises ND’s recruiting ceiling. They struggled to get sec speed and top end talent for decades because it’s a hard school to go into places like Miami and Southern Cal and convince people to go to a catholic school in Indiana. But hiring a 40 year old, African American with charisma helps a ton.

Sometimes a move is a win win. We still have to see if Freeman has it as a coach though, lost to some inferior teams the last couple seasons.

Tell me the names of the dudes at ND the last 5 years that can compare to the top dudes in BK’s 2 years at LSU. Jayden, Malik, BT, Perk, Ojalari, Will Cambell, Kayshon, Kaleb Jackson.

We get the freaks bro and that’s like a weak 2 year stretch for us and is probably better than 5 years of ND.

They’re in the Top 10 and only 9 players behind us. I think you’re coming to the wrong conclusion with this data. Notre Dame recruits some of the best talent in the country is what this tells me. They’re close to the big SEC schools.

It's like you are on a mission to make sure everyone involved with this boards understand the depths of your idiocy.

I mean, I'm convinced.

Here’s the thing people fail to understand. The reason Notre Dame is even recruiting as good as it is right now is because Kelly turned them into a consistent winner and developer of NFL talent. They were Nebraska level dead in the water before he got there and built them back up so that they are now a desirable place for recruits.

When we played ND in the Sugar Bowl, when the had Jeff Samardizja and the QB with the super punch able face, we nuked them back to the stone age with like a 41-14 score.

They fired Charlie Weis and had to hire Kelly to rebuild their wasteland of a program.

That what irritates me the most about Notre Dame and their bitchy little fans; they should be grateful to Kelly.

He brought that program back from the rubble. They had like 3 terrible hires in a row, and had they made a 4th terrible hire, I doubt they would have ever become relevant again.

Kelly rebuilt that program to what it is today and ND fans should kiss Kelly's arse every time his name is mention, the ungrateful shitstains that they are.

bring your debate about it, so I can break it down like a fraction. I already ruined the ill-informed noob who made the thread, and I hope to shake down your silly arse too.

Prime example of the below average people on this discussion board that don't realize the point of the website. Has zero reading comprehension and can't point to where I agreed with OP.

NIL changed the equation and allowed ND to starting competing for more top talent due to their wealthy, football obsessed alumni base.

That might play into it, but I think the bigger shift was NIL. Freeman’s best class was the one Kelly helped put together thanks to changes in the landscape brought about by NIL. ND can compete with anyone money wise.

How? Freeman's classes at ND have been the same as Kelly's best classes

It isn't like he's pulling in top 5 classes now

But they’re dead even for 2024, and they have 10 4 stars for 2025. I thought academic standards were too high, weather was too cold, whatever, for the quality players to commit in large amounts.

Two things can be true at once.

1. Brian Kelly tapped out on the types of players he could get to Notre Dame and needed to come to a place like LSU where it is easier to recruit elite talent.

2. Marcus Freeman is a better recruiter than Brian Kelly and can get more elite players to Notre Dame than BK could.

BK left because LSU “gets better players

BK left because he wanted to be able to recruit in the southeast and Texas. I think it would be easier to recruit and convince a high school kid come play at LSU over ND. ND is not the powerhouse they were when Parseghian and Holtz were running the show. The only reason they are still relevant is because of the weak schedule they play every year

It comes down to the skill positions. You need the crazy elite and the crazy elite to come out at the same time when it counts. We get the crazy elite in the halls of LSU. Notre Dame has traditionally been great to get an ol man from.

Can someone please anchor this fricking thread already. I get it. Everyone hates my post. Whatever, it was a legitimate question and was taken the absolute wrong way. I don’t get what’s so hard to understand. ND was supposed to have worse talent. I get that stars aren’t everything but they’re still getting them anyway. NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND MY POINT.

Seriously.
