Yep, this is a repeat of last year. It worked last year, so they are trying it again. Not a surprise.

I guess I don't get it. I know Texas has the ESPN thing and a very good RTF program - but broadcast journalism? They aren't super well-known for that.
Whatever the case ... they seem to be hitting some sort of sweet spot with Herron.
common sense. Herron had to make this visit secret, don't tell lsu, don't tell mom, or whomever. it had to be set at the last possible date so lsu could not respond. He Go's to texas and may sign with them.
What does that tell you? if you're having to do all that, keep everything secret, the texas coach is asking to keep it a secret and making arangements for all this to go down at the last moment, asking you to do things that aren't common sense ethically right, what does that say? all of sudden you believe what they are saying/selling is true and your best interest?
no, and it's not all texas fault. obviously the kid has fault as well. you know right and wrong, if he didn't, there would be no secret.
If a kid, torisho and now frank, are willing participants to try and keep a secret, do this at the last possible moment, and do this under the table, Then, potentially shaft the very coaches who's been with you from the beginning. what does that say?
This HAS NOTHING TO DO ABOUT COMPETITION OR BROADCASTING. It has everything to do about shady recuitment, which memphis and their high school coaches are noted for. (albert means ring a bell).
This is common sense. If it was about competition or broadcasting, this would have gone down long ago. Not the last weekend before you sign.
If you saw or heard what bradley dale told spears vs what larry porter is doing, you know which coach has the kids best interest at heart and which coach you should be happy isn't here any longer.

The future is good for LHN, but product on field has to improve and it will in due time. The production quality is superb. The quality of play by the athletes has been mediocre.
Why don't LSU counter with telling him UT has been a shithole the past 2 years and even A&M is now a better program.
Do you want to play with the big boys are go to UT and suck?
Oh, and we have a pretty badass Journalism Dept as well.

It is good, but best in the U.S.? That would be Columbia.
Isn't it a grad program only? And Missouri's program could probably be considered "great". Certainly on par w/ Berkley's from what I've heard.

SOL,
Your post, predicting we get either RN or Herron has a certain satisfying symmetry, but appears to to be based on no facts (certaionly none posted on this thread).
Do you have information that supports this comment, or did you pull this from uranus?

The thing that Texas is offering is playing time (less competition then LSU) currently
I cant imagine how they have less when we just lost 4 DEs. No way they lost more.

Did UT fire their DC yet? I know all their fans wanted him gone.

I suppose it depends on how you define failure. In last 6 months, deals with 3 large cable companies have brought in another 9 million homes, so now LHN is available in about 13 million homes around the country.
How many of those sets are they receiving a subscriber fee for? The answer, none. This is how ESPN was expecting to make money. Instead they are forced into having to piggy back the LHN while renegotiating the bigger deals so they can attempt to claw back some of their investment via ads. Spin it how you want, but the LHN is a colosal failure.

Texas is solid at DE & DT in the near term, but loses 2 DE next year and 2 DT. However, it redshirted 4 D linemen in 2012. If Herron is good enough, he'll get a shot early but he probably needs a RS year to put on some weight to make the move to DT.

Great post big guy. Hopefully that will ease some of the turkey lurkeys.

Based on this I have not a damn clue why he'd chose Texas now other than Porter being slimy with him. He gets to play on a much better defense here, he knows our DL coach has been here awhile and sends his players to the NFL, Chavis has been here a while and looks to stay for a long time, he gets more immediate playing time here and he's ready to play physically right now at 6'5 265. Texas is a mess right now, why flip there?

UT needs more $15 million per year failures. One of us doesn't see beyond the present.
