Just saw a clip a few days ago with CWW saying most of the spots are accounted for and most of the guys are here.

I don't know. Wade didn't come off as his normal confident cocky self in that clip. The part about not knowing who LSU has officially announced is very odd. Wade knows exactly what has been publicly announced.

correct. do you have evidence that basketball coach McMahon was funded at a level comparable to his rivals?

you have made two conflicting claims about basketball teams. that he was funded just fine, and also that we cant know how much these teams are funded.

please try to refrain from insults and instead discuss basketball funding in the NIL era, and how transparent it is or isn't.

my belief is that McMahon was probably underfunded, which was probably his fault, because funding requires gladhanding and politics.

your theory apparently is that we both know and don't know how well these teams are funded.

So for those of us who don't want to read 114 pages

What's the current status of this team? Who do we KNOW is in, KNOW is out, and who are we still waiting on? Just cliff notes, please.

American portal players - In
RJ Luis - Out, will need to win in court
International players - Waiting on NCAA clearance

Beyond that, it's all speculation and tea leaves.

The only "evidence" to support he wasn't was a conveniently timed report by a guy who covers football recruiting (but also happened to be married to a person who worked in the athletic dept) and some blogger for a nearly as shitty Oklahoma program. But when you are looking for ANY reason to explain the poor results aside from McMahon simply being a bad coach that's all the "evidence" you need. Of course, that ignores the fact McMahon signed multiple top 20 rated classes in his 4 years at LSU (maybe he was just good at identifying the only highly rated players in college basketball who wanted to play for minimum wage )

The excuse makers ran with the BS that McMahon's woes were simply a byproduct of "no money". As if a coach just rolls the ball out on the floor and gets out of the way for 5 months. If all it took was money to win the Kentucky would be dominating the SEC and North Carolina wouldn't have fired their HC after last season.

The most logical conclusion is no, McMahon's rosters weren't as well paid as some of the historically more successful programs. But it wasn't so destitute relative to the rest of the conference that LSU shouldn't have been able to compete....with even just a decent HC.

Ultimately, the marketplace will tell you how good of a HC McMahon is thought to be. If the market sees a good HC who just had "bad luck" and "no money", he will get a major conf. job pretty quickly. Instead, I suspect he will soon find his way to the 2nd or 3rd chair on some school in Appalachia whose games are on ESPN+

This is wrong. Everyone should be good to go, Luis is still not 100% certain but is probable, he’s on campus already. All the international guys will be here within the next 30 days.

Guards: Ugo, Bashir, Nunez, TBD
Wings: Luis (70/30 he’s eligible) Niang, Dioubate, TBD
Bigs: Santos, Dessert, Ruzic, TBD

Ok, I'm going to ask a question, it is not a troll. It is merely seeking actual information, so I can start to anticipate the upcoming team.

Is this legit, or wishful thinking? I'm not sure what to make, as it seems like there isn't any true "sports information" anymore with LSU, it's all media propaganda (national hates us and everyone is out, LSU supporters say everyone is in and we should be Elite Eight minimum).

I did see that Luis is in town, so I take it we're going the court route- is that confirmed, or speculation?

Assuming your post is correct
quote:

Guards: Ugo, Bashir, Nunez, TBD
Wings: Luis (70/30 he’s eligible) Niang, Dioubate, TBD
Bigs: Santos, Dessert, Ruzic, TBD

what do we expect? 2 guards, or is one of the wings capable of playing guard? Do we expect 2 bigs on the floor at the same time, to distort the defense (at least one being on the perimeter to snipe away from 3, which seems to be the Euro style)?
Who would be the "go-to" guy, I'd assume someone will be the team leader?

Thanks

Yes it’s legit. And Louis and Niang can help with ball handling.

I asked for evidence he was, not that he wasn't, which according to you is the most logical conclusion:

I agree and I think its because he refused to raise money himself.

quote:

maybe. I think its possible he is a decent coach and recruiter, but a terrible money-raiser. and I guess in today's NCAA that means he wont win and wont be hired anywhere good.

There is no logical reason for RJ Luis to be working out at the LSU practice facility unless there's a high probability he'll be able to play for LSU.

I think most people realize that Louisiana is the biggest good ole boy network in America politically.

I would be SHOCKED if Landry didn't have a judge or four that owed him a favor and that judge isn't currently locked and loaded to grant RJ's eligibility if needed.

I don't understand why it's so hard to read between the lines in situations like this.

I COULD be wrong, but I think it's the most logical scenario.
