On3 predicts Baylor @ 89% and LSU 2%.

I agree, I thought Reece showed some real potential especially on the speed and quickness side. Looked like he was becoming comfortable on offense and even showed he was capable of being a good defender at times. Also agree with Ugo, he’s big, long and athletic for a guard. He isn’t a fluid ball handler but there’s some comp with guys like Copeland and Smart who played for Wade, weren’t traditional PGs, could look a little awkward handling the ball but were very effective doing it. Now he’s way more athletic than those guys but you could see those two had played with the ball in their hands so much even though it didn’t always look clean they knew how to get the job done. With Ugo we may have growing pains there but Bashir is there to help and I could see a Smart/Mays combo situation for us. As far as Bashir struggling with the ball in his hands I would point to the fact that he was always the primary until he got to K-State last season. If you go watch his games at Monmouth vs Michigan State or against Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey he was the best player on the floor and lit those teams up to the tune of 38 ahd 20 points without any help from teammates. He also had 25 vs a very good Nebraska team and he’s had 21 games of 20 points or more in 50 college starts. Some of our fans see the high 3pt% and assume he’s a catch and shoot guy but if you go watch his games he’s creating most of his shots off the dribble. He’s not an explosive athlete but he’s 6-7 with a very good handle and a dead eye shooter. I agree with you on Dioubate, he’s very versatile and pairs really well with Niang at the forward spots. Diou can put it on the floor, has a back to the basket game, is relentless on the offensive glass and can hit a spot up 3. Our forwards are guys who will have 10-15 points at the end of a game and you won’t even notice it type players.
Much love, but DNR.

Guard who played for Wade at McNeese and NC St. He’s on a two-way contract with the Rockets currently.

Sounds like we’re trying for Keyshawn Hall again this offseason after he just got his TRO. (Edit: Trilly also says he’s hearing LSU and Arizona)
We are also pretty heavily in the mix for Reese Alston who is another reclassification candidate. Tipton said it was LSU, Louisville, and Wichita St. with Kentucky trying to also make a move. LINK
Also from Jamie Shaw today:

4-star PG Reese Alston Reese Alston is the No. 6 overall player in the class, and the No. 2 point guard in his cycle. The four schools I am hearing the most here are Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, and Wichita State. There has been conversation about him coming out as a 2026 prospect. If that were the case, that decision would need to be made quickly. At last I checked, it sounded like the plan is to stay in 2027; however, that is something worth continuing to keep an eye on. If he stays in 2027… Calling My Shot: Louisville Confidence: 25% Biggest Threat: Kentucky, LSU, Wichita State

I've also updated the main page and added what we have for our schedule so far on the second page.

Am I remembering correctly? Are we supposed to get the 5th year ruling by 7/31?
Posted on 7/24/26 at 11:57 am to Circle K Beggar
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but think July 31 is the NCAA's deadline for schools to submit old-rule eligibility waivers, not necessarily the date for a nationwide court ruling on fifth-year eligibility. There isn't one nationwide ruling due by July 31. Different eligibility lawsuits from the guys who just ran out of eligibility are all on different timelines.

The only thing holding me together is the confidence Pear had in his last interview regarding the roster. The silence is killing me. I need to know who is in tOrchard

We should be able to clean up the 5for5 guys with how much budget we have remaining compared to everyone else

We have roster spots, but what makes you think we have a lot more money? We reportedly paid Niang between 4 to 7 million. The other international guys are probably making a lot more than they would’ve earned as pros and we had to outbid others college teams, so I imagine they’re all making about 2 mil, so that’s 10-13M. My guess is the other 3 main players cost about $1M apiece. So that’s 13-16M. How much do you think we have left to spend?

We supposedly were offering $5M to Madar that's now freed up.

When Wade was asked at the hiring press conference how much NIL he had, his response was something along the lines of "as much as I need, especially in year one."
If you are a BILLIONAIRE helping fund the LSU basketball NIL, does an extra $10 million really matter to you? One hundred million ten times over equals $1 billion, and it's been reported we have more than one LOADED donor contributing.
I'm well aware that billionaires don't become rich by burning cash, but if you're committed to bringing a winner to BR I don't think what amounts to extra tipping money for these dudes will cause them not to fund the roster.
Logic dictates that Wade worked this all out while in negotiations to return to LSU.
They will of course expect wins, and lots of them to continue funding the NIL. Just like in football.

Good point. I’ve heard $20 mil is the budget. That probably would’ve covered Madar and Luis. I think that’s about $7m. The 5th year guys probably won’t be as expensive, and we only need a couple, so I agree that we should have enough to sign a couple of very good ones. I was asking because the poster seemed to suggest we had a lot more.
