I’m going to have force myself to think more Luis Hernandez than Mac Bingham with this one.

Right now I’m meh on it but can be convinced otherwise.

Part of it will depend on who is pushed out to make room.

I’d take a Gavin Dugas type of final year

On the pitching side, I think we look for some electric/wipe out but polished arms that can extend if needed. With

I was just reminded of Carter Young that committed from Vandy then left in the draft. I believe that was the same year we lost Pineda from Baylor. I'll have to process the similarities and differences for a bit.

SIAP but UF hired the Oregon State pitching coach. I know they weren't in a conference, but OSU led the country in ERA this past season.

Very much is Florida people have been saying he wants to sign. But what’s crazy he’s isn’t on either overslot or baseball America top 500 lists

I like it, if he doesnt go pro, i think he is a starter and has a productive year at the plate for lsu next year. Dugas type year is the dream, but if settle for less

Dugas comp was immediately my thought as well. Even built similarly. Kurland is a good fielder too (1 error this past season). Limited range like Dugas too but makes the routine plays. I like the pickup a lot.

On Kurland, I wonder who sought out who? I’d like to think that Jay identified in Kurland something he can finesse towards improvement.

He is what he is in the field, but a guy who has seen sec pitching for 4 years with that pop, ill take it. He also dramatically dropped his k rate this year. 8 hole hitter for florida most of the year after they started him in the 3 hole. Whats weird to me is transferring to another sec school after playing at 1 for 4 years. Thats a bit odd. Maybe he was insulted by floridas NIL package for 2027

Same. I don't mean to be negative, but I'll wait before getting too excited over any draft risk. Awesome commit though.

I’m wondering what yall think the draft stock is for a career .279 college hitter that doesn’t play a premium position

If he desperately wants to play pro ball, so be it. But it’s not like he’s about tone enticed by a bunch of money lol

Definitely not, its more of a question if he wants the couple hundred grand from the pros and get into that firepit immediately, or enjoy another year of college and maybe make the same or something close to the same. But some guys just want to start that clock before they are too old, and i get that too
