Fauske being here already is interesting to me. Seems like he would have been one that hangs out at his house for draft and if for some reason things don’t go his way then come to campus.

You should be worried about the guys here that can name every pictured high schooler

Braun looks like he is headed to lsu soon based on an IG post from a little while ago, not pulling out of the draft or anything, just posting stuff with lsu gear and on to the next chapter type stuff

Definitely Texas de Brazil

Yeah I know people say it’s a negotiating tactic but I don’t buy that it’s necessary these days with how the draft works. Probably setting myself up for disappointment but I like that Fauske is in BR.

Who was the signee picking out his classes with the LSU guidance counselor and left to take a call from his agent.. signing and never to be heard from again?

Brody Colvin.
Mainieri tried to keep up with him for about the first couple miles.

It's gotta be weird for all the incoming freshmen to move in, get acclimated, start bonding, only for some of them to leave a couple weeks later because they got drafted high.
Not throwing shade at anyone who takes the money, just an odd situation for everyone involved.

Christian Cairo had the same type of story too.

It probably is weird. It certainly doesn't hurt to have guys here that seem like locks to get drafted. They start bonding with the guys and maybe it makes it a little harder to leave, especially when the school just won another natty. I know it's probably not enough to turn down 7 figures, but it can only help our chances.

Funny to see guy’s listed height, then see a photo of them standing together. The 4 guys on the left are all supposed to be 6’2

I just listened to Musso's draft preview for the players on the roster. I disagree with a few of his predictions, but holy shite he knows next to nothing about the draft and scouting, but he really loves the word leverage.

Kiley McDaniel 2 round mock draft released this morning over on ESPN:
1. Kade Anderson
14. Jaden Fauske
25. Quentin Young
42. Anthony Eyanson
53. Dean Moss
59. Chase Shores
73. Briggs McKenzie
Keep in mind this isnt his Top 250 rankings, but rather his actual mock draft for top 2 rounds. For example he has Fauske ranked #31 in his Top 250.

I'm hoping for the best, but preparing myself mentally for us to get kicked in the balls by the draft this year. We've been pretty fortunate the past couple of years.

If that happens Fauske can start packing his bags to get off campus now. That is the first I've seen him get mentioned that high.
I'm not 100% sold on Kiley McDaniel and his mock draft stuff. If I recall correctly he always seem to overthink the mocks and puts way too much emphasis on what players he thinks might have a cheaper number for teams to save money and it shakes up his drafts considerably. If I recall he did that last year with JJ Wetherholt getting picked 1 overall in his mock because of the savings.

Agree and there has to be a sweet and sour emotional drain: you signed now leave before lunch. The Cairo story wasn’t as crazy as Zach Lee who was in the middle of two-a-days.

I mean, ultimately mocks are thought exercises and engagement farms with no real value. Even the best mocks are batting less than Dylan Crews. And that's no fault to the writers, but you have 30 teams using 30 different draft strategies, philosophies, and evals with varying degrees of smarts. They're a decent gauge of where you can expect guys to get picked, but that's about it imo. And even then, it's hit-and-miss.

I like his because that's where he usually puts his signability information.
I read his stuff more when he was at FanGraphs. I can read his stuff on ESPN, but their site is terrible and their app is terrible, so I usually just don't look at it.
