Got to think UCLA will be preseason number 1 or 2 next year with that lineup returning and now adding Gasparino.
And they're always going to pitch.
They're going to need more stuff than pitchability guys to lead their rotation. but it may just be a matter of some of their relievers taking a step forward.

Don’t like seeing Paz creep up in this projection, but hopefully he wants to be developed at LSU.
Fauske, Young, Sime, McKenzie, Ebel, and Hodge likely gone pecans IMO.

do we know which signees, if any, are already on campus?
Chris Martin had an video of some of them working out on his IG yesterday. Someone who knows what these guys look like could probably tell you if it's still up

Its hard for me to consider ucla a top 3 team without they elite stuff, but maybe im wrong

OT- Haven't seen anything on other boards and know that those with any interest would likely be here anyway. Not starting a thread over it.
Leger out at UL. Going to USM. Bringing some of his UL signee class with him.
Deggs hired Marshall pitching coach. Days could be numbered there.

I've been watching this play out and laughing.
Deggs made a really bad assistant hire and it seems to be coming home to roost. Guys like Yuhasz and Stelly hitting the portal should be a red flag.
Losing Leger to a conference rival should be whatever is next after red flags, a blinking light with a siren or some shite.
ETA: Leger was not the bad hire I was referencing.

A lot seem to think so but he consistently improved their record every year from his 1st until last year. He's well liked there

I'm not 100% but one of them looks like Dean Moss.

Yeah, just kind of a general consensus I'm hearing from ex-players who have even had some degree of success
I was told during this season that Deggs would end up firing him, but I took it with a grain of salt knowing all of the LA arms he had coming in, and figured things would work themselves out.
I'm not anti-Deggs, but he certainly will now have more riding on their performance this year than I would have expected

They shouldn't have been the number 1 overall seed. The bracket was poorly constructed, IMO.
Don't care now though.

Vandy collapsing in the regional should be studied
Not just a talented team but a HOT talented team.

Had heard at one time through the grapevine that Jay viewed Leger as a real up and comer in the game.

They weren't really that talented though. Same with last year when people were upset at me being mad we lost a series to them. They haven't been that good in a while. NIL evened things out with their scholarship scam, and even before that Vitello had been sniping in state guys from them regularly. Corbin can't win without a decided advantage.

Vanderbilt’s luck meter this year was the opposite of Arkansas’.

Landon Victorian to UL
Not sure if that had been mentioned

Yeah, i think the committee reacted on seeding to what they last saw more than ive previously seen. Vandy being the prime examlple. Im not sure anyone who watched the sec regularly had them as a top 3 team in conference
Posted on 7/8/25 at 1:23 pm to cajuntiger85
There wasn’t many dominant teams this year. It was a much different year than 2023 when you had a ton of guys who were less than a year away from being big league players.
Posted on 7/8/25 at 1:26 pm to josh336
Yeah, it was ridiculous how they jumped Texas, Arkansas, and LSU on the basis of a tournament those 3 teams didn't really care about.

I know this isnt a tough league by any shape of the imagination but these are some riciculous numbers and over 17 innings at this point.
Anyone know how Thompson couldnt get any run in the bullpen this year as a different look guy? Looks like he has very good control and thats something like 70% of our pitchers struggled with and why they saw less time than they would have otherwise.
