I am keeping my eye on this one.

Any players y'all are looking at besides the 2022 A&M class

Going to be extremely interesting to see how LSU uses the portal this time around! LSU should be viewed by many top level players as a destination place opposed to the school you are trying to get away from.

That's crazy.

Back door recruiting.

If you're not hitting it from the back you are doing something wrong.

I think a lot of hometown kids are going to want to come home to lsu.

It's gonna be a fricking bloodbath this off-season with no signing class cap. Shits gonna be insane, kids getting traded around like Pokemon cards until all the big dogs have full decks of 85 elite players and the little guys are scraping the bottom. I'm sure glad LSU is a big dog and is clearly on the rise, I'll take a few bandwagoners.

BTW, all this shite is obvious NCAA tampering violations. Who cares about the NCAA lol!

The portal, coupled with NIL basically requires "tampering". If you aren't, you are going to get left behind. Make no mistake, coaches stay in contact with the "advisors" of players they recruited but ultimately did not sign. The coaches don't directly communicate with the players considering transfers, but backchannel conversations and early negotiations are CONSTANTLY taking place.

LSU likely has a general idea of who they expect to enter the portal (including players on their own team) and is probably aligning themselves to be able to jump into the mix if/when the player official enters the portal.

Hopefully use it to our advantage - higher quality in than out. Basically dont end up like A&M is about to end up in the portal this offseason.

I think many would have said we lost the portal last offseason with the quality/snaps we had going out (Ricks, McGlothern, Johnson etc) until the season finally happened. Kelly proved very quickly he knew what he was doing.

To keep on topic with this one, as Crown mentioned, this dude is certainly interesting. Believe we discussed it briefly, Crown, he was recommending another talent to head to the Boot. Not only that, but the Duncanville connections with Simmons and perhaps Dotson, could bring LSU a major Texan haul. That’s an interesting relationship for the future, considering they have ANOTHER 5 star coming out after Simmons.

Exactly.

I feel bad for the guy. He does everything the right way and always gets screwed over by cheaters.

Not sure specifically which players it could be, but I'd imagine Kelly will continue to keep an eye on upperclassmen that went elsewhere (for whatever reason), developed into good players, and want a chance to come home to play for LSU.

I have to think some of those freshman WRs from Alabama are having second thoughts there. Their WR corps is horribly ineffective, and they're still sitting behind a bunch of sophomores and fellow freshmen. Not necessarily saying we should pursue any of them, but I think a couple of them may be available.

ETA: But if we do enter the race for some SEC WRs that may be a little disenfranchised with their current situation, Lovett and Burden at Mizzou would be welcome additions. Both from the St Louis metro area.

Forgive me but when does the transfer season start/end?
I wonder if adding a bunch of transfers before our HS class signs will affect decisions. Seems like a lot of our HS guys are excited about immediate playing time

I would like to have Matthews and Moss come back to BR. Does anybody know if Moss had to get away from BR?

Also, the Bama Fr Receivers Project mentioned could be in play...at least one of them. My pick would be Preston

I think it is going to depend heavily on who decides to stay at LSU next year.

Interior Defensive players will be a priority if Roy and Guillory leave, or other players transfer out.

We will need a premier Edge rusher if Ojulari goes pro. Think there is any chance a leader like him would want to come back and win a 'ship??????

Secondary will need some help for sure. We're planning to sign a ton of guys but all are young. Would be great to have a veteran CB or 2.

Texas A&M is going to be like Santa Claus to LSU this year from the rapid rumors that are out there right now, from people way more in the know than I am

They probably are, but outside of Law I doubt the other two would crack our top 6. Sucks for them and the TE as they were set for life in Louisiana if the NFL didn’t call, but looks like they made a 40 year mistake like Dylan Moses.

Looks like Keylan wi t make that error.

In this new era of just unfettered Free Agency, I think people need to worry about players like Harold Perkins just getting insane offers from other teams every year.
