Don’t keep up with recruiting like I used to, but 2025 looks to be maybe our best ever?

Just did a little bit of quick digging, and the class looks insane.

Am I reading this right?

Ever? No. But in the past few years / in the NIL era? By far.

When it’s all said and done , they’ll end up 5th or 6th. Georgia and Oregon will pass them up.

Until 2026.

Eta: but don't get excited. Something like 8of the top 10 are SEC teams. Bama, UGA, Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, aTm, and apparently Mizzou...... I think the SEC is playing in Heisman mode and the rest of the NCAA is playing junior varsity.

We are behind Ohio St and Alabama right now according to what I’ve seen.

Just to clarify, I meant best LSU class ever, not overall.

Like any season, a team's inordinate success or failure can cause recruiting outcomes to be fluid. There may be some high four stars (or a small number of five stars) that look elsewhere despite already committing due to coaching perceptions or firings. While that can work both ways, I believe we have the best overall coaching staff in the country.

One other impact on the class is an amazing senior season and player ranking bump there from.

I don’t remember them having 4-5 stars, one being the top player in the country. I don’t think they’ve ever had a QB this highly rated.

I’ll wait until after signing day to see what the class looks like.

It's really good but id say no. If Underwood pans out it won't really matter

On paper it’s close. If everything stays the same it will definitely be the most athletic class they have ever put together.

If it stays intact, this is a frickin phenomenal class. Easily a Top5 class, which is what you strive for.

I think so. This class has top players at multiple positions and a lot of quality linemen. Add another top wr and db, and this is easily our best ever. Add a top DT, same thing. The problem with that is what’s left available. There is still time to flip some guys.

They’ll have to really live up to the hype to be as good as the 2017 class.

I think this is the best OL class I’ve seen and this is the highest rated QB we’ve ever landed… we haven’t signed a top 10 overall player at QB since I started following LSU recruiting.

Perrilloux wasn't #1?

Wasn’t ranked as the top prospect, Shep was rated higher than Perrilloux too.

I’m thinking several posters still don’t realize how big of a deal getting Underwood would be.

We also had Russell Shepherd who was top 1-3 overall depending on where you look. Think that was 2009.
