Also wasn't it Saban who said LSU fans have the "sky is falling" mentality. It appears he was keeping Bama's in check all of these years. First with the begging for money to "keep up with those who are trying to keep up with Bama?" and now this LSU can't take our players Deboer is better than Kelly.....it's almost like they are trying to convince themselves of something. I bet Saban sees these articles and just shakes his head.

All of that. Build good to really good talent on both sides at all levels as opposed to a super freak athlete but still not filling other needs. Kinda falls in line with the losing of underwood other than Williams is 100% proven. Either way I like our current approach and guys.

Exactly. And that's how it happens. Players, especially good players, have agents. Those agents get in touch with the various collectives/donors to float their client hitting the transfer market in order to get a market value. They then take that money to player's current collective/donor base and say this is the market price. Are you going to pay it? The player isn't directly talking to the coaches on other teams. All of those discussions are being held through intermediaries.
Ryan Williams is a tremendous WR whom LSU recruited. LSU was obviously in the market for a WR. Why not kick the tires on Williams? Best case scenario he joins your team. Worst case scenario, the price of doing business for one of rivals just went up.
Complain all you want, but that is the marketplace we live in.

Cool story bro. I'm not saying it didn't happen but with no name, or even position, it could be a totally make believe story. "We didn't make the playoffs and the dynasty is over but LSU came sniffing around with a big offer and one of our player loves crimson so much that he told them to kick rocks. We're still kind of a big deal. We're important!"
