Who else is ready for all of the new members at your gym starting this week?

What are some of your favorite things about the yearly new year’s resolution gym members? I’ll start:
Doing curls in the squat rack
Supersets on three different machines during the gym’s busiest times
Leaving weights on the floor for the gym staff or other members to trip over or re-rack.
One positive: the gym has been making improvements and repairs these last few weeks of December for the new potential members.

I try to teach them proper gym etiquette, especially the cute girls.

Bench press, curls, then 5 min on the treadmill...

That they are there in the gym trying to better themselves.

I am...being em on. I don’t care how long they stay, anyone wanting to improve is welcome wherever I am.

I doubt they'll make it into my garage.
I don't miss the New Year crowds at all. I don't hate on people trying to better themselves, but it's super frustrating in a gym with 3 squat racks like the one I used to go to.

The brand new neon workout gear that still has the tag on.

My garage gym still just has 1 member. Shouldn't be too crowded when I workout later on

I go around 3:00-3:30 in the morning so I’ll be good. Don’t think they’ll be too many newbies at that time.

The "new year new me" types have already started at my gym. Friday there were two bros I've never seen before doing rounds of pushups in the squat rack. Pushups in the squat rack.
Wednesday some guy with 95lbs loaded on the bar was texting while sitting on the bench press. "How much longer do you have?" I asked.
"Not much longer" was his reply. He then texted for 10 minutes, sitting on the bench press, got up and left without even touching the bar. He didn't even re-rack his weights.
I get that they are trying to better themselves, but their behavior is unacceptable. Most of them will quit within 6 weeks anyway.

I have my own gym, but if I were still using a public gym, I'd like to think I wouldn't be a big enough dickbag to talk shite on people who are trying to improve themselves.

Im usually at the Y around 5 am with the blue hairs only there to drink coffee and socialize. Today there were definitely a few more folks but nothing that slowed down my Wednesday workout routine.

Random question, but does anyone else always seem to see the same people at the gym no matter what time you go? I tend to go the same time every night, but I'll always see the same people when I go different times on the weekends.

Are they all wearing matching shirts that say "welcome to the Y, let me help you help you!"
But seriously, yes, it's freaking weird.
My work gym I see the same people because I go every day at the same time, no big deal.
But when I go to the gym by my house (weekends, working from home, etc) it is on a schedule that makes no sense and is not consistent in any way and there are 2 or 3 guys that are there almost every single time I go. 9 am on Tuesday, 2 pm on a saturday, 8 pm on a friday. Don't make no damn sense. The Matrix needs to create some more characters.

I'm a little surprised gyms don't require some sort of short etiquette/safety course before activating memberships.
As frustrating as it is for the seasoned gym veterans, I'm sure there are some people who sign up for a gym and are terrified to do something wrong.

Update: They really weren't that bad today. I think the rain may have kept some away but there was definitely more traffic than usual.
