My body is very leg-centric as is my brothers and dad

This is sort of where I'm at. I played basketball through college, and the emphasis in S&C was always very leg centric and keeping off any bad weight.

I benched mainly for the bro aspect of things, but never put time into form. Frankly, I've only put serious bench work in for the last 3 years w/o machines.

I've always been fairly posterior chain dominant too. To this day, I can kettlebell swing almost anything (I don't power clean due to wrists). My front squat...much less so.

Rep520, sounds like we are very similar. I do a lot of good mornings and KB swings. Pressing of any kind has always been difficult to me and I really have to zone in on proper volume and frequency to get those numbers up.

Nah no wraps or straps

I mean in your squats. Typically people who use wraps have a higher squat number.

Just a belt wrapped around my tummy lol. Nah I’ve never used knee wraps or bench shirt.

You did say you didn't train the deadlift that much.

Nice lifts though. I'm gonna try to get to 575-600 squat and ~625 deadlift by end of year.

I started last year in September at 365 max in squat and 500 in deadlift.

At one point everyone in here couldn’t bench 135. Just takes lots of food, rest, and lifting some heavy arse weights everyday and we’ll all be there. I’m using it as motivation.

Right now:

Bench: 405 (never barbell bench anymore/just db's)
Squat: 545
DL: 565

Weight 220 @ 5'11". Last year hit 605 DL right at a bw of 200 since I had to cut to that for a BJJ tournament. Best DL lift ever and I was 45 at the time.

Respect

The most I ever pulled was a triple with 585 2 years ago when I was 34. I've been fighting injuries since that time unfortunately and have had to adjust my training somewhat.

Thanks. A lot of the work up to that lift was mental. Funny story, I trained with a guy that wanted 405 so bad he could taste it but seemed to break down when he tried 4 plates. One day we were lifting and I just started putting a 25 and a then a 10 and then another 10 on top of 315 and I told him congratulations for doing 2 reps. He said congrats for what, and I said hitting 405 for 2.

Definitely. I'm going to try to get a coach next time and tell him to pick numbers for me and I won't look.

Bench: 280
Squat: 365
Deadlift: 365

5’9 180

Still working on strengthening my hamstrings and lower back to boost my abysmal deadlift number. It should be inching up faster than it is but IDK.

Sorry... just saw this post.

Felt normalish in 2 weeks.
Lifting light weights after 8 weeks
Feeling strong again after 7 months...mostly mental

It was a small umbilical hernia. Had it fitted with a mesh.
