No other lift or movement is done so poorly so often with that much weight.
I disagree. I've seen more cleans done wrong and hurt people.

just requires proper form
Any articles or videos on proper form for squat and deads? I feel like I do it correctly but I have seen so many ways out there I'd like to get the boards opinion.
Should probably start another thread on this but was curious if there already was one.

Yeah, go ahead and do that. Good info will get lost in here

thats funny cause bench press causes way more injuries than the deadlift.
You're an engineer. You probably shouldn't have to think too hard on this one to figure out why.
A lot more people doing bench press than dead lifts

deadlifts dont hurt your back, they encase it in iron.
My issue is I already have scoliosis
I'm concerned that that alone will almost guarantee that I'll have bad form
If I wasn't concerned about that, I'd add it to my routine. For what I'm trying to accomplish right now, I believe it can be done without dead lifting.

Recently read an article by Greg Nuckols where he debunks this myth. There wasn’t any increase in stress on the knees from doing a half squat compared to a full squat. It’s in his MASS subscription
Now there is a significant difference in the muscles being recruited during half and full squats which is why it is better to full squat.

I'm always interested to see if I'm wrong. I couldn't find the Nuckols article you're referencing, though. Here's a study compilation on depth:
LINK
"With the same load configuration as in the deep squat, half and quarter squat training with comparatively supra-maximal loads will favour degenerative changes in the knee joints and spinal joints in the long term. Provided that technique is learned accurately under expert supervision and with progressive training loads, the deep squat presents an effective training exercise for protection against injuries and strengthening of the lower extremity."
If you can find the Nuckols article let me know. Like J said, always interested in more info and Nuckols is a smart guy.

I know that but I would bet percentage is just as high or higher too.
I'd like to know how many injuries are from bad form as opposed to some dumb arse trying to push their luck without a spotter and getting trapped under the bar.

Deadlifts
Although I think squats are more versatile
Squat, hip hinge, swings, and presses make a functional body

I was referring to shoulder impingements and not even counting those that do stupid shite. Some people are determined to play stupid games and therefore win stupid prizes

I could have sworn I read an article recently about the strengthening of the spinal erectus group as a way to treat scoliosis from becoming worse.
I'll see if I can find it.

A lot of low T posts in this thread
Anyone that thinks doing a movement just because you’re over a certain age will hurt you is dumb.
Deadlift btw
ETA: but both are a must. I do both and won’t stop at some magic age.

This is probably the exception
But the legendary (in powerlifting) Lamar gant deadlifted 630 plus at a 132 body weight and had scoliosis

deadlift is possibly the worst. No one over 28 should ever do them.
I'm sorry man but that's an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

I disagree. I've seen more cleans done wrong and hurt people.
