Yeah it pretty much is. You created an arbitrary age where you are really in your athletic prime to stop an exercise that strengthens one of the most important muscle groups in your body.
None of that makes it ridiculous. Just because something strengthens you doesn't make it not dangerous. Those muscle groups can be strengthened many different ways.

It's been proven time and time again that, when done with proper form, is an extremely effective overall strength gaining exercise.

No doubt.

Calling it a dangerous lift bc some people don't learn how to use it properly is a like suggesting we quit driving bc some people get in wrecks.

No it's not. No one comes over and causes you to do deadlift wrong.

Is it just slipping?

Yeah. I'm better with the positioning. I don't use chalk though.

I wear gloves for grip currently.

I'm thinking about getting a weight belt too. Any recs on one from anybody?

High acceleration. Large movement for center of mass.... recipe for injury

Yeah this seems pretty intuitive

I'm surprised that people would think you couldn't injure yourself doing them

I just use a 10mm powerlifting belt from Amazon. Has held up nice but I think I'm going to go 13mm lever sometime this year probably from inzer. If you do get one, get single prong or lever. Double is a bitch.

straps on my AMRAP sets

I'm in a 3x8 phase. I will be using straps and not feel bad.

Use chalk, not gloves. Gloves are close to counterproductive for heavy work, IMO.

Beltwise, I have Rogue's standard PL belt.

People talk trash about Rogue, but their customer service is great and all the products I have from them are well made. Inzer has a lot of fans. My biggest piece of advice is drop a few extra bucks to get a good one. You can get a great belt for not much over $100 and you'll get better results and a longer life than a cheaper belt.

That poor technique can lead to injury on any lift? Yep. Guess so.

I’m 41 and can say unequivently that this is bs. I was dealing with all kinds of lower back pain in my late 30’s. I’d come in for work and my secretary would say I’m walking crooked again. Since arriving at and surpassing body weight on squats and dead’s the issues have disappeared totally. It’s been a Godsend for me.

Mainly people who rip Rogue for some of the overpriced Crossfit gear. I love Rogue stuff too. I've never been disappointed in quality of their stuff.
