Thinking of getting in the home gym game, garage may be my only option. Am I dumb?

Anyone been working out in their garage all summer and can give me the thumbs up?
I would love to be able to workout at home but don't think we have the room inside. Also don't want to spend $3000 and not be able to use it for 3 months of the year.

Just don’t be a bitch and you won’t have a problem

You can buy kits that will insulate your garage door. Then add a mini split.
Or just work out with the door open and box fan

I have done it a long time, this year now that I am training kids, I went ahead and mounted fans in the gym and it has made a really big difference. they are pretty quite, i have 3 in the gym moving air
i have them on plugs that have a remote so I can turn all all off and on easy as they are mounted high.
these are the fans

honestly only been really bad the last 3 weeks but the fans make it not too bad. I liek to workout at like 8pm or 5am so isnt bad for me but when my kids are in there at 4 or 5....it can get rough
but 100% worth it. especially with all the new electronic resistance coming out that is game changing for garage gyms.

Beyond Power VOLTRA
I would assume something like this. One of the trainers at our gym has two of them. Pretty bad arse devices.
Brian Shaw travels with these.
My only con for the garage gym is the heat/humidity. That's why I switched back to a conventional gym.

I did it for two years with no A/C. The trick is to get a pool you can immediately jump in after you’re done. Hope this helps.

That's gonna bump my budget up.

you can workout in the garage in the summer still.
or get a minisplit - cheaper than a pool

Some of my best workouts in my life were in my teen years in the garage. Had an adjustable bench, squat rack, ez curl bar, assorted dumbbells, and 455 pounds of various plates.

I work out in my garage gym all year, summer included, no fans, no A/C, garage door raised. In the winter when I don’t sweat as much I have a sauna in my garage so I can still sweat buckets.
Sweating is good for you so go lift and get the bad out.

They make cheap floor ac units that only need a window if you don't wanna work out in the heat.
I myself do insanely high intensity workouts 2x a week in a steel box with only 2 small fans. sweating is healthy.

Yep. Crack the garage door open so you get some air flow is my main recommendation. Sometimes I’ll try the door down for 10-15min but then crack it open.

I have my gym in my garage in north east DFW, I only open the garage about 3 ft so it’s hot as hell and you can get a crazy sweat on.
Get some kettlebells and watch YouTube for workouts.
You can buy rubber mats at tractor supply also.

Why not just get a deluxe cable machine for those prices?

If you train through the spring you’ll be acclimated enough that it’s really not that rough.
IMO cold winters are harder, the bar gets so cold it numbs your hands.

I’d like to see it try.

i love my garage gym, so much more convenient than making time to go to the gym between all of my kids activities. just chip away at it buying stuff here and there and eventually add a mini split.

Look at Blazzedfitness.com
The BX2 with bench for press and leg work looks so good. Appears solidly built as well.
