Since beginning of August '22, I have now lost 40 pounds. From 240ish to 200ish today. Got off BP medication and I've reversed my slow march to diabetes. Still have about 25lbs to go to get to my main goal of 175-180.

I am already lighter than I was in 8th grade. No hyperbole. I am 38 for age reference.

I play a drum kit as a hobby - committed to 3x a week at 60-90 min each time. I play metal so it’s a calorie burner

I stopped drinking at all during the week. I had 1-2 pints of Guinness most nights before and more on weekends. Hundreds of calories a day I don’t take in anymore

Portion control. Still eat like I did before for the most part, just less.

Congrats to you baw. I wish more people would take this approach instead of pulling more medicine into them.. people try everything under the sun to do for illness and high blood pressure etc, except exercise and eat right!

When you go back for your annual checkup and compare your fasting labs it’s a lot of fun.

That’s fantastic!

Amazing how many things are now in your health favor, as opposed to healt detriment, in those 40lbs.

Well done. Keep up good work.

Congrats man. This is big for you at 38. You don’t want those problems.

And Ive just been so disappointed with people. We went through a global pandemic killing fat and old people. Yet no one even wants to budge on bettering themselves. Give me that pill, give me that shot. Oh this new weight loss pill as a million side effects? I’ll take that instead of lowering my calories.

Keep up the good work. And yes, cutting out those liquid calories goes a long way. Hard to lose weight drinking beer every night.

Good job! I went on a similar journey about 18 months ago. I'm on the shorter side at 5'7", and was nearing 200 lbs. I was probably slightly heavier at some point, since I had cut back on the alcohol for a few months, then quit it altogether later on, but I weighed in at 189.2 on my scale at home in the middle of October of 2021. In a month or so I was down to 173.6, and then by Christmas I hit 160. Ended up losing a few more and decided that was enough, and gained back around 10 lbs between strength training and shifting back to a normal healthy diet. Oh, and I was around 165-170 in high school and college, but for some reason being that at 40 years old felt so much better than in my 20s.
