Thank god. I stopped caring about Mr. O. Dexter Jackson was one of the last ones I really liked. Ronnie was also too big but I liked him a lot.

Basically, it’s turned into who can take the most drugs before competition to get as massive as possible. It’s supposed to be appealing to look at a body builder, not revolting.

Things changed after Dorian Yates. A lot of the "mass monster" guys just don't look healthy.
I liked Ronnie because he lifted super heavy and was a fun personality, but he looked better before he got huge. I wouldn't want to look like the after pic.

Interesting video. I think it scares people away from the sport (the casual fan) the same way people were turned off to the women’s body building events where women stopped looking human.
I’m not an expert or anything but I do think moving back to more golden era looks would bring more people into the sport. Casual observation from someone who doesn’t really understand how they judge, though so correct me if I’m wrong.

As others mentioned this all started with Yates and the abuse of Slin/GH. Bodybuilding is such a shitty/unhealthy “sport”. It will never have a mainstream following, but it’s good to see somebody trying to reverse the mass at all costs era.

I think bodybuilding is most mainstream when someone would think "I want to look like that."

Pretty sure Ronnie turned pro natty, then spoke to Flex about protocols then blew up. Classic Physique class is a way more 'attainable' look than open BB.

Reminds me of that episode of Regular Show where Muscleman was all out of shape and flabby, but he still won the bodybuilding competition because he could pose better than the others.
