Honestly, this part of the fun of it. The challenge is great, but it's nice to be able to talk about it with others that are doing it too.

Screw doing the three major compounds in one day.

Don’t look now, but tomorrow has squats, deadlifts, barbell rows, and farmers carries (but the worst is gonna be the Bulgarian split squats)

I love me some Bulgs. I'm not a fan of the bent over BB row. Such a basic excercise and I can't ever get my form right. Kind of embarrassing.

I used to be the same. Just finished Silverback and did a ton of them. I was finally able to feel a mind/muscle connection and I really like them now.

Got to say, I feel like strongville then silverback for aug and sept had me pretty prepared for this.

The cardio tonight…I used my kadillac bar for all sets and on the last set of push-ups I was grunting like I was trying to bench 500, triceps were shot

I will often sub in low incline chest supported DB rows. I had a lower back injury this spring, and the doctor was actually pretty quick to get me deadlifting again (in squat stance and not heavy) but suggested the bracing and positioning and length of time your back is vulnerable for heavy barbell rows makes the risk/reward not great (assuming you have the setup to do chest supported rows).

Just finished Monday's workout. Got a stomach flu yesterday and couldn't do it. Just going to be off a day until this Saturday.

Did 12 sets with 235 on the bar in exactly 10 minutes.

Back and grip are done after todays workout. Had to get up extra early to get it done.

Today's work is done.
I knew the Bulgarian Split Squats were coming at some point this months and I've been dreading them. I just don't ever feel like I get my balance right.

Cardio SS was weird. I did EZ bar curls with 30 lbs, which would usual challenge me for 15 reps. Doing them after the carries, with my forearms fried, the weight seemed to just fly up.

Gotta say, after running Stacked, Jacked and Turning Heads for the past 4 months, This is a reduction in overall volume and it is very welcome. Been getting it done at right about the hour mark.

Done, cardio smoked me today. I loved the db rfess work but went light because my balance sucks, still felt it.

Two sets in on the RFESS and I’m struggling with the balancing

The rows feel great. Haven’t done these in way too long!

I bought a pad for my barbell solely for RFESS. Makes it so much more comfortable and balance is better than in a bench.

I was worried about my knees after all these squats, but they’re feeling great. I guess it’s the mix of heavy and light sets. I don’t think I’m going back to a LP routine. The constant heavy squats were killing my knees.

so just to help you out even more....in the warm up add couple quick sets of the following

1) tib raises- just 1 set of like 20
2) calf rasies- just 1 set of like 20
3) sldl- just add it into the circuit he has for the day, keep it light and just stretch the hamstrings out
4) bodyweight hamstring curl- not a nordic, talking like what he calls slider curls here or useing a wokrout ball and using your feet to roll it to you. or just do frog pumps

this will get all of the muscles below the knee fired up and open ankle mobility and then it will get the hamstrings and glutes activated.

and yea i suggest you stick with PPSA programming if you are liking the "not heavy every session" type programming.

I'm with you on this. After 6-8 months of GSLP I felt fried and took time off. Got back and did another 5-6 months of 5/3/1 and same thing. PPSA has been a welcome change and I'm having fun (other than snatch grip DLs )
