1. When smokers throw their cigarettes on the tee box and green.
2. People who can't lift or place the flag in the cup without damaging the side
3. In heavy play where carts are being flipped the people that are too lazy to remove the beer cans and general crap from the cart before turning it in.
4. The guy who after his 7th stroke is still in the fairway and won't pick his ball up and move on
The two big ones.
When you get stuck behind a group where no one can drive a ball over 220 but they have to wait for the fairway or green to completely clear because they might hit one 350.
The assholes that see the line of golfers behind them but keep taking mulligans to produce the same shitty shot and they won't let anyone play through.

Not raking bunkers.
Not repairing divots.
Not repairing ball marks.

The things that get me most:
People disrespecting the course with golf carts. Especially after it’s rained and the ground is soft - that damage will be there for months - there should be a fine when caught.
Damaging the hole. My brain can’t even fathom how someone could use their putter to get the ball from cup.

"I hit it 290 when I hit it good." Then proceeds to hit the driver 220 yards all day.

Truth..
CSB - When I was 18 or 19 I worked at this medical rehabilitation store in Augusta, GA. Me and the owner got along really well since I played golf and would let me play golf with him while still on the clock some days (his wife was NOT a fan of this ).
There was a guy who worked at the rehabilitation hospital that we supplied and claimed he could hit "the long ball" so the owner asked him to play with us in a Lauderdale at Gordon Lakes.
I was a 280-290 guy off the tee and so was my boss, who was a good player in his own right (had qualified for a couple of Hooters Tour events and 1 Nationwide iirc).
Usually the owner would hit first then me and Michael would always be the last two to hit, but this baw insisted he hit last when we arrived to our first hole. So I hit second and Michael hit third. When ole baw saw mine and Michael's tee shots he proceeds to literally swing out of his shoes and when he regained his balance he said "oh that's outta here" with every ounce of seriousness he had.
We get to the first ball that's about 30 yards behind 2 of them he said ok man that must be your ball. He picks it up and looks at it and sees it's his and said "man, you and Michael must've hit yall's 330 yards". I said not unless we hit the same sprinkler head. I looked at the scorecard when we got to my tee shot and told him the news he didn't want to hear, that mine was hit about 280ish which is usual.
He ended up averaging about 240-250 when he hit a fairway, which might have been 3. He would always ask what we were hitting into greens and hit what we would and always came up 1 to 2 clubs short.
Needless to say this baw had a reality check about his game and I don't think he ever recovered from it and this was 13 years ago.

People that hit a bad shot and then don’t watch where it goes and then want to spend 15 minutes looking.
Sunflower seeds people spit on the green.
But as mentioned already, lazy players that abuse the course with golf carts. They think they pay a cart fee so they can drive wherever they want

This is probably the only thing that actually annoys me. Some of the other stuff like not fixing divots can be bothersome, but I understand it slips people's mind from time to time.
The sunflower seeds is really frustrating.

anyone who plays golf and does not choose 'fixing their pitchmark (divot) on the green' is not paying attention ... everything else is moot/inconsequential/irrelevant/over-blown ... if someone doesn't rake the sand and i'm in a footprint, i will pick up and rake and replace ... that happens once every 100 rounds ... fixing divots in the fairway doesn't do much since the displaced turf doesn't reroot (not sure why so many people think this) ... and walkers don't carry sand ... not repairing pitchmarks is the worst thing a golfer can do on a public course ... greens are what separate the quality of courses, and fixing a pitchmark literally takes 15 seconds ...

What? I’m a natural lefty so until college I could never find lefty clubs. So it’s normal for me to hit metals and irons righty and wedges and putters lefty, since I found lefty clubs in college.
If I feel the club opening I’ll cross hand off the tee.

Everyday people do it because they see the pros do it. The pros do it for a couple of reasons obviously.
The primary reason is to keep someone else's ball from Landing in their divot. They hit the ball so consistently and in such a tight grouping that the odds are greatly increased someone else's subsequent drive will land in that spot. The divots they take how much more substantial than what the average hacker takes. Replacing a divot actually impedes the growth. The pros are not to concerned about the damage and regrowth at these clubs. You should try to pinch the edges together and minimize the damage and then fill with sand.

Most of it has been said in this thread already:
Sunflower Seed Guy
Not fixing ball marks
Not raking bunkers
Ignoring Cart Path Rules
Screwing up the sides of a hole
The "I carry 280" guy - NO YOU DONT
but the one that makes me the most mad is the guy who is on the practice green with 10 different balls putting to 4 different holes from the same spot, one of those holes is inevitably 60' and across the path of the only two holes he isn't putting to...
Let someone else get some work. Move hole to hole if you must but be respectful of other players.

This. Worth repeating. I would argue that it is less than 15 seconds. I can do two or three in 15 seconds.

the death penalty should be an option for people that cheat in scrambles.
Posted on 2/12/18 at 5:57 pm to Masterag
They are the same ones that cheat when by themselves.
Easily identified because when they claim to be an 8..or a 14..
Or even 20...they can never play to it. NEVER. Like guys claim to hit it great distances... they don't.
