The summer heat is finally hitting us here in NELA. I played Sunday with a 107 heat index. I was walking with a push cart, which I immediately regretted on the back nine. Besides almost having a heatstroke, I could not for the life of me keep my hands dry.

I had three holes during the round where I had 130 or less into the green and flat out just lost my club mid swing. Do ya'll have any suggestions or tricks of the trade to keep your hands dry in the heat? I had 4 different gloves in rotation and two towels.

Wear a rain glove. Life changing. A sweat towel and good club grips help too

Rain glove and appropriate grips for high moisture. The rain gloves actually work better as they get soaked.

Just ordered these because I had my first absurdly hot and humid day Saturday and I don't play with a glove in moderate weather.

Rain glove is a game changer.

I also switched to Winn dri tac grips.

Grip master kangaroo leather grips. Cost twice as much as regular grips but are 1000% worth it for this weather. They have better grip in the humidity and last years. I honestly don’t think I can use anything else. Rain gloves work well but I prefer the grips work in the humidity.

I walked yesterday at Memorial in Houston. It was super hot, but I felt prepared. So, it didn't bother me all that much. I use two gloves during the round and take them off immediately after each shot. I'll alternate between each. I usually strap them onto the cart or push cart. I also usually have a huge pool towel that I drape around me between shots. I'll just make sure to wipe down before putting on my gloves before the next shot.

All of this. I walked 18 yesterday morning, and while it was brutally hot and humid, it didn't really affect me since I was prepared.

Don't put on the glove until you absolutely have to, then take it off as soon as you finish the swing. I hook 3 gloves on my bag and alternate between them. Putting your glove in your back pocket won't do any good if your shorts are soaked.

Carry a microfiber towel that's just to wipe yourself down. I was constantly wiping my arms to keep them dry and prevent the hands/gloves from getting even wetter.

I'm really happy with the Golf Pride Z grips. The cord really helps with my grip this time of year.

The towels I have in my bag are just regular golf towels. I just got new golf pride grips put on last month.

I have never tried the rain gloves though. I may have to try that out.

I used to use the Winn Dri tacs and liked the grip a lot but I have having to change them out constantly. Idk if that was just a problem with mine or not

I don't know if this is legal to use in tournament play, but this stuff works amazingly.

I am the absolute worst when it comes to sweaty hands. The bigger problem is at the very first feel of my grip slipping (usually at top of backswing) my game goes to shite. I have a system that works very well but it’s a constant battle. Always have a towel constantly wiping in between each finger on right hand and my glove never comes off (personal preference) but these two things are a must for me.

FootJoy TropiCool Glove. This was suggested to me years ago by a sales guy in Edwin Watts. Cannot find this on the shelf only online but it’s the best glove I’ve ever used for sweaty palms. The material on the palm is different than any glove I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s similar to rain glove. Not sure.

Amazon

Second is sticky grip. Lot of options but this is what I go with. Was suggested this by a friend who plays with no glove at all. He strictly uses this. I usually grab it every tee box and sometimes in between but it’s a must have for me. I know if I was to lose some weight it would help but shite on that.

Rain gloves or take glove off between shots and rotate them, good towel. For just keeping the heat from bothering you and a quick refresh, a cooler of ice, Florida water, and cooling towel FTW.

The only thing I wear regardless of temperature. I just prefer the thinness.

If you’re looking for weather gloves and don’t want to spend a lot check out finger 10 gloves

LINK

Gloves last well, are cheap, and don’t get slick, played a full round today in 103 heat index and never changed gloves

I really need to try the Dry Hands. Baton Rouge based business and I knew the owner at one time, but I confess I haven’t tried it. I do know some people who say it really works.
