All liv executives are not on site in Mexico and are instead having an emergency meeting in NY. Something is about to happen

Seems like some type of merger is the only possibility
A merger makes no sense for the PGA Tour at this point, so I would assume the only merger that makes sense would be with the DP World Tour.
One of LIV's only successes has been tapping into markets like Australia and South Africa, so maybe the DP World Tour would take over those events.

A merger is what that LIV player interviewed is”hoping” for

Any legit sources chimed in yet or is it just the typical NUCLR golf and Flushing It type X accounts?
If it folded or if they announce they are pairing with the DP, neither of those would surprise me.

The Telegraph chimed in. Look at Jim’s post last page.

The guy who has spent years on an LSU message board being an a-hole to everyone else about a fricking competing golf tour is calling out other people about a rough look? Get the frick out of here and grow the frick up.

No, I'd say it's a rough look for you.

It seems like things always gets moving during major season.
Scott O’Neil was in Augusta which triggered an “emergency meeting” in NYC this week.
I think the golf twitter mob might have jumped the gun with rumors of something big happening today. Maybe we have something solid like a merger by July at The Open

Ryan (Monday Q info) is pretty reliable and connected. I would be shocked if he pulled this out of thin air.

Flushing it is a notorious LIV shill. Maybe this truly is all a complete nothing burger or maybe LIV is trying to calm things down while they work out what exactly they’re going to do.
So far the only real report was from the telegraph which said there was an emergency meeting in NY (which contradicts Flushing It).

I think he most likely got his info from whatever was discussed in the NY meeting. That seems legit
People running with rumors like this was the problem. I don’t think it will move that quickly during major season

Flushing it doesn’t say there wasn’t an emergency meeting in NY. He just says the executives are back in Mexico now

Got it. Regardless none of those posts actually say that there’s no concerns about LIVs future going forward. They’re all very much worded as “LIV Mexico is going ahead as normal and no future venues have been told the league is folding.”
Which as others have said that always seemed unlikely logistically for things to just fold with no notice. End of the season is much more likely if there is something to this.

My best guess is they are going to finish out the season and then fold or merge with the DP Tour. And I guess the players will be obligated to finish the season even though the league is crumbling around them as long as they are still collecting large paychecks.
ETA: The conversation would be different for guys like Bryson and Rahm who the PGA Tour wants back. Perhaps they could say "frick it" and bolt sooner, especially if the PGA Tour has all the leverage. Will be interesting.

The tour gave Rahm his chance at amnesty. They should let him walk.
Posted on 4/15/26 at 10:38 am to usc6158
Well, that would only strengthen the DP World Tour if there is eventually some sort of merger with LIV, because that's where Rahm would go to play assuming those two sides can finally work something out.
I know the PGA Tour has an ownership stake in the DP Tour, but I would imagine if they are given the choice they would rather Rahm play his golf here in the states.

If this is true, Rahm and Bryson turning down the one-time return offer from the PGA Tour just got more interesting.
Bryson’s contract was expiring at the end of the season so I think he felt like he could get a good deal to start next year regardless.
No idea how Rahm would feel. Hasn’t paid his DP World Tour fines and doesn’t seem to be in the best place with the PGA Tour either.

You said they were still in New York and not in Mexico and "something is about to happen".
