40 hours of that will be the main story with the remaining 60 hours devoted to side quests. For comparison, Final Fantasy VII Remake took about 40 hours to play through with roughly equal time devoted to the main story and side quests.

This is going to be a big game.

Took me a while to finish VII remake but it was worth it in the end. I never played the original

frick there goes my life. I was planning to go through remake and intergrade again before rebirth. This may take me all year

And then there’s the Elden ring dlc that should be coming out

Plus dragons dogma 2, and rise of the ronin, and euiyuden chronicles all in the first quarter of the year. Plus I still have to play FF7R-1 before the new one. 80 hours into cyberpunk and still not done. I’d be cool with them not making any games for an entire year just to get caught up

Man p3 reload, then Rebirth (the one I’m most invested in obvs), then rise of ronin, then FF16 expansion. We are eating like kings

Heavy rumors and leaks running amuck about Sonys self described “huge state of play” tomorrow the 31. Someone got to their pre upload YouTube vid in hidden mode games that will feature big

Rise of Ronin
Death Stranding 2
Rebirth
Sonic Generations
Silent Hill 2
New metro game
Judas

Not on the leak but Sony put out a statement after the leaks went wild that Rebirth Rise of Ronin and Steller Blade will headline. Which is great I’ve been waiting for stellar blade for years

Ending with an announced demo of rebirth being live. Take it for what it’s worth but it’s out there I’m pretty sure we will have a demo of some type tomorrow.

Many people who have been to multiple Hands on events and a leaker who post only on reset era (trash site) who has been highly credible in the past for instance he called p3 reloaded before it was announced as well as Elden rings dlc image announcement works before it was put out and more is claiming a demo will come and go live at the end of state of play tomorrow. Says he has seen it and it’s very similar to FF16, you play the flashback with cloud and Seph and can port your save over. Further claims like ff16 there will be a mode for when you finish the demo letting you test out some new mechanics of the game our place from where they’d normally be. This guy is right very often. You can go check reset era if you have the stomach but it’s coming.

I haven't read much about this, is the combat for this real time or turn based? or some kind of mix

Its the same foundation of the combat in part 1 but with a lot of other things placed on top of it. Imo its the best combat system theyve ever made

It’s a mix but it’s the best combat in any FF game imo. I wish it would be the model moving forward. Very strategic and everyone has their purpose. It’s fluid and engaging.

7R has way more substance and life in comparison to the original up to this point. Not taking away the greatness of 7 but it was limited to the technology at the time. I do hope they were not lying when they said 7R was their original vision for the game.

I really wish 8 would get this type of treatment.

Agreed. It’s the absolute perfect mix of old school and modern Final Fantasy combat mechanics, mixed in with some Chrono Trigger style team up attacks. Combat is a blast.

Agreed, I love combat in Remake. I'm almost done with my second playthrough, and I'm hoping I can get through Crisis Core before the 29th but I dont know if that's going to happen. I've never played it before but it looks like it's going to be important to Rebirth.

Game is reportedly coming in somewhere around 155 GB before the day one patch. Holy shite praise to Gaia that’s massive. For comparison Jedi Survivor was around 147 GB day one.

Played through crisis core for the first time last year. Dont even attempt to do all the training missions, I think there’s like 200 of them. Decent game to play to get the full story but it’s definitely dated, I was ready for it to be over by the end

The sephiroth vs genesis vs angeal cut scene is one of the coolest ever though

State of play starts in about 50 min. Really looking forward to Stellar Blade i have to think they’ll give a release date. Crossing my fingers for a rebirth demo going live but I thinks it unlikely this early. Either way they’ll show off some new stuff.

Reasons to be hopeful a demo will drop today include Jan 31 being a register holiday in Japan as FF7 day, remake part 1s demo came a month before the game did, and Jan 31 is the day og was launched in 1997. Hmmmm

In a strange twist Sony is doing ANOTHER state of play on Feb 6 which will fully and exclusively provide an “extensive look” at Rebirth. No other games will be present.

The biggest youtuber who does solely FF content, Blitzed, just uploaded the demo he got to play back in october. No one knows if this will be the demo will get in the coming days but it seems likely. It is an hour long and ill link it below but it is basically two demos of certain sections of certain areas. These are picked on the title screen upon booting it up. 1) The fated mount nibelheim mission with a subline of "experience part of cloud and sephiroths story" with a 1 star difficulty out of 3 and 2) The open wilds of Junon with a 2 out of 3 star difficulty and a tagline implying youll go through the mythril mine and experience a limited amount of what the open world of junon is when you emerge. The second one in particular goes into MAJOR details of core mechanics of exploration and combat including showing off the crafting system and new moves in the presets for each character that werent in the remake 1. It also says in the the junon demo you can pick 3 presets of party members to use to traverse the world but in the full game you can choose any including leaving out cloud. Linking full hour of both of those demos below if you want to see. I have watched the full hour and for anyone who doesnt care to see anything at all prepare to have your minds absolutely blown even more than you imagined. This game is extremely impressive and if it can hold quality throughout without hitting many open world pitfalls we are truly about to experience something that doesnt come often and should be cherished.
