Nearing the end of remake. I’ve enjoyed it but many of the areas are just so bland. I HATED the tower part. Running up generic levels

I agree but I also understand it’s a game based on 40 hours of Midgar and midgar was never really pleasing on the eyes to being with for me. The slums are pretty dull and as well as much of midgar imo.

However I thought the Shinra building was excellent in the remake and obviously Rebirth will be a much needed change of scenery.

I was planning to go through remake and intergrade again before rebirth. This may take me all year

I played the main game and DLC both so many times that I was quoting every line of dialogue as the characters would say it, word for word.

Tifa! My dear, dear girl... Oh, what's he doing here?

I was informed by Mrs. Axe that I will be residing upon the couch during slumber hours if I play through again before the Rebirth release. So I'll abstain and just jump into the new title feet first. Watching the countdown timer on the ol PS5 has been torture.

Mrs. Axe actually is excited about the new game though, seeing some new content after watching me play the first installment until the controller turned to dust. So she's a keeper.

And then there’s the Elden ring dlc that should be coming out

For me it's going to be Dragon's Dogma 2. I'm hoping I can put in the time and work to 100% complete Rebirth before DD2 launches a month later, because if DD2 is anywhere near as addictive to me as the first title was, I won't put it down for the rest of the year once I start it.

Rebirth and EA College Football are the 2 games that are getting me to finally buy a PS5, so I haven't played Intergrade.

I know Intergrade had upgraded visuals and performance compared to the original PS4 game. But is there anything new or different with the story besides the Yuffie chapter DLC?

Well I do think it’s worth a playthrough for the story points alone. Could get it done in 4-5 hours if you blow through. Not super long. The DLC introduces some people at the end that you may find important in terms of character development. Unsure how important said characters will impact the overall main story though.

You could also watch a summary and get a good understanding. The gameplay while fun…seems to be different from what I have played in the demo.

Are you talking about just the DLC?

Main story from the PS4 version of Remake is still the same in intergrade, right?

ETA: is there a way to transfer my saved progress from PS4 to the PS5 when I upgrade? Or is my PS4 saved game completely irrelevant to the Yuffie DLC part?

Apologies. Yeah just talking about the dlc sorry. I get intermission and intergrade confused.

The remake is 40+ hours. I believe you can transfer data from remake to the ps5 but don’t need to for the dlc. Not even sure if the dlc made it to PS5.

The DLC seems separate from remake as far as save data is concerned. You just switch a menu to play DLC and it’s a new game. No carry over.

The only difference to the main game was an extended ending that came with the Intergrade DLC, and a superboss fight against Weiss in the combat simulator.

He's a tough son of a bitch, too. I highly recommend the challenge.

I also recommend playing Intergrade though. It ties in seamlessly to the main game's plot, adds a couple impressive new areas, and adds the "synergy" combat ability which they have apparently heavily integrated into Rebirth.

Rebirth synergy seemed different from the dlc synergy.

I might be in the minority, but I disliked Yuffie. I try not to take games too seriously but I swear I wanted her to just shut the hell up. The gameplay was fun though so I'm glad I did play it.

I transferred the Remake data from PS4 to the PS5 and started to play through again, but forgot I had replayed chapter 1 on the hard mode that gets unlocked after you beat the game. So now that save game is stuck on hard mode. On chapter 10 now and damn its a lot tougher for some of these boss fights

Hardest thing is not being able to use items at all and the benches next to vending machines only recharge HP but not MP. Learned that the only way to beat main bosses is to use MP as little as possible until the boss fight. And it helps to have 2 MP Up materia per character.

Yeah downloaded it from the app at work.

I could totally use PTO for Thur, Fri but the wife would be triggered. She finally beat remake/DLC and is excited for rebirth as well. Would like to keep our playthroughs semi close to each other.

God I’m so concerned they are gonna pull some bullshite with the story. Was listening to a podcast reviewing the other day and they indicated it may happen while not giving away specific spoilers

Working my way through remake again so probably won’t look at this thread again until I finish
