Haven't eaten there in years, but when Mawmaw and Pawpaw would take me and my brothers every Friday night, it was hamburger steak, rice and gravy, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cottage cheese with peaches.

I worked at Piccadilly - I lasted 1 entire shift the summer before sophomore year of college. Those serving spoons were HOT and I learned the food industry was not for me. Uniform made for a really great costume and I never ate the pies or any dessert after working there. I watched the lady who was in charge of finishing the pies with whipped cream toppings lick her fingers while doing her job.

We don't have Piccadilly in Houston. Luby's will do though.

CF Steak with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. Black eyed peas or green beans and Mexican Cornbread. Unsweetened tea.

If you like Lubys you need to try Cleburne on Bissonnet in West U. It’s as good of a cafeteria style meal you can get. Think of a nicer Luby’s or Picadilly.

I'm familiar with Cleburne. We lived in the city for many years. I live in NW Harris County now. That would be quite a trek for us now/

I was surprised to see a new modern piccadilly off of I12 around hammond. the one i lafayette is stuck in the 80's. I went a few months ago for the first time in decades and the food was terrible.

My grandparents used to love going to Piccadilly and I have fond memories of eating there with them as a kid. When my grandfather was dying of cancer he always wanted the baked chicken (takeout) from there. The last meal we ever shared together came from the Piccadilly on Louisville in Monroe.
