Y'all are kinda rough here. I have a fondness for Folgers as my mom made that every day growing up. I still enjoy a cup now and then.

I think the only reason people are downvoting Folgers is because of the nostalgia that comes with it. It's not good coffee by any means, but people like it because that's all they've had and want to stick with.
Starbucks Blonde Roasts are great for cappuccinos.

Starbucks is the worst imo because of how they over roast their beans to make a consistent product. Starbucks beans are fine if you are mixing in milk and sugar because it contrasts well with the over roasted beans but if you want straight black coffee it’s horrible

I have no idea. I don't sample various coffees trying to find the worst brand. Probably the shittiest I've had was either Starbucks or whateverthefrick crap they use at work.

Im not a big coffee drinker. I drink tea. Starbucks teas are fine and i enjoy some of their baked goods. Coffee drinkers i know seem to universally agree the coffee isn’t great. I feel like they’re probably pretty aware and just dgaf because they sell so much iced coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

Always check for the roasted date and try to find the freshest one

All the pre-ground mass produced stuff (like exclusively preground and mass produced - Folgers, Maxwell House, etc.) is terrible. It tastes primarily like the cheaply made drip machine used to brew it.
Next is the slightly better mass produced and mostly old/ground stuff - Chock full o nuts, most Community, etc.
Starbucks isn't great, but it's ok. People who drink Folgers from a Mr. Coffee and complain about freshly ground Pike just don't really like coffee to begin with. At least the over roasted Pike will be freshly ground and reasonably well made and probably a bit fresher than the grocery store whole bean Starbucks.
Roasting date is more important to me than origin, blend, roast, etc. in 95% of circumstances.

Leroy Hill, usually found in various hotel rooms along the beaches in the panhandle of Florida.

If some wives like purses and shoes, my wife is a confirmed coffee lover. She orders all these rare and expensive coffees. She mostly has excellent tastes.
But she LOVES Cafe Bustelo. It is the most horrid rancid coffee I've ever tasted. She drinks it at least once a week. It could be a purgative for all I know.
It is hell's coffee.

Starbucks is definitely more roasted. You know why? Because the millions upon millions of dollars they have spent on customer taste tests tells them that is what most customers want. That's why they are the largest coffee company in the world.
I'll drink most any coffee, but really don't like Keurig or Nespresso that much.
And most gas station coffee sucks as well

Same at our house. My wife drinks Cafe Bustelo made in a stovetop Bialetti brewer on the weekends.

I can’t believe y’all are bashing a local brand in Folgers (roasted in New Orleans)!!
The 1850 brand of Folgers is pretty good. The classic brand (red bucket) I don’t think is 100% arabica beans…which might account for some of the “bad” flavor

Most people are drowning it in creamer sugar and whipped cream. They’re not drinking coffee they’re drinking a damn sugar milk. Real men drink coffee black.
I can’t stand hosting guests and they have to have their coffee dowsed in sugar and creamer. Makes a mess at the coffee station. Just drink a damn soda or Tea at that point

We switched from Community to Folgers years ago. Much smoother, less bitter. How boring would life be if we all liked the same thing?

Bitches who say they'd never eat fast food or get a milkshake at Sonic or McDonald's are going to Starbucks and.....getting a $10 2,500 calorie milkshake.
