Why is a good malt so hard to find these days?

Used to be able to find a decent malt at lots of places.
Even Sonic stopped making them, even thought their malts were just ok.

Dairy Queen and Whataburger have great malts.

Seems like a simple thing to make at home when the craving hits.

It really is hard to find one. I’ve been just going to Baskin Robins lately

Creole Creamery in New Orleans will do one still.

Dairy Dip in Belle Chase. Stop there every time I return from fishing in Venice. Love the Hot Fudge Malt.

Dat's cuz the mixers are busy during crawfish season and it's crawfish season right now.

Does Jays really have a good malt? I feel like this is an inside joke or something. I work right next to it, have been going there my whole life and never gotten one.

I prefer a malt to a shake. It’s been a long time since I’ve had either. Now, I’ll be on a mission!

Agree. I've noticed the same, with the usual places serving only shakes now, but I don't go out for a malt but maybe once a year.
Andy's Frozen Custard (it's a chain, and don't know if there's one near you) has a nice malt and is served with a double serving of malt. I highly recommend it

Does G&Js in Livingston still do them? I remember those growing up!

It's legit with 2 scoops real malt going in the styrofoam cup first, ice cream, then spun into a delicious malt. Get it with a pressed bbq pork (sauce on the side) or french dip poboy and curley Q's

Eddie's Famous Frozen Custard in Hammond is worth the detour if you're on I-12.

Culvers sells malts. I may have to get one, soon. It's been a long time since I've had one.
