"You have my word as a Biden" - Joe Biden
First you make a roux!

Seriously, I wouldn't bother them at all. I'd either ignore them completely or try to befriend them by leaving them treats.
Unfortunately, you're more likely to get the next Edwin Edwards.
It would be great if the guy who does the Project Farm youtube channel could clone himself 1000x times and have a channel dedicated to reviews for all different product categories. The guy does a phenomenal job of evaluating products and finding the best value for the dollar.
And...

It has some of the crappiest weather - hot/humid summers, cold/icy/snow winters, tornadoes, storms, hail.
Clarification for "stay on the Kansas side".

The Kansas City metro is made up of something like 5 counties (3 of the counties are in Missouri and 2 of the counties are in Kansas).

Kansas City, Kansas is located in Wyandotte County. Historically, Kansas City, KS has not been safer (and possibly less safe) than Kansas City, MO. I would say that not all of Wyandotte County is unsafe. The other Kansas county in the metro is Johnson County. It is one of the safer (if not safest) counties in the metro.
I don't know about the safety aspect, but there are many things that need to be operational when functioning as a working prison that don't need to be functioning as a museum. Examples include: showers, kitchen, medical clinic, exercise yard, all security locks.
Correct! Veterans Day is always on November 11 and it commemorates WWI Armistice Day that occurred on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour.

Totally agree on the salt water. It's corrosive as hell. Fog? Give me a break.
The biggest challenge for me (living in TX) is finding smoked sausage that makes my gumbo taste how I want it to taste. Also miss tasso for the same reasons.

comes from the french term descende la voiture - to to get down from the car

The car was invented in the early 1900s, but the vast majority of French immigrants (whether directly from France, Nova Scotia, or elsewhere) came before then. I have never heard an older French speaking person in Louisiana use the word voiture. Their word for car was 'char' (unsure of spelling). I spoke with a person who is from France about this and he said 'char' means 'cart' (or maybe horse-drawn wagon).

My question is why does everyone think their religion is the right one?

If a person didn't think their religion was the right one, wouldn't they switch to a different one?

re: Will we know family in heaven?

I have pondered this question a great deal for many years. The angle that puzzled me the most is what happens to a family where 1 person lives a holy life and the other person does not. We are told that in heaven there are no sorrows or longing for anything. If the holy person enters heaven but their unholy family member does not, how would the holy person not have sorrow or longing for their unholy family member (who did not make it to heaven)? Through logic, I concluded that it would be necessary for those entering heaven to have their memories reprogrammed.

What influenced you the most in choosing your religion or it choosing you

By reading books about the Marian apparitions. First, I read a book about the apparitions in Lourdes. Next, I read a book about the apparitions in Fatima. Then, I read a book about the apparitions in Garabandal, Spain. The first 2 (Lourdes and Fatima) are recognized by the Roman Catholic Church. The ones in Garabandal have not been recognized (mostly due to political issues).
I think that Speaker being 3rd in line is only in the scenario that POTUS and VP die essentially at the same time. I don't think that Speaker becomes VP if President resigns. It's been a LONG time since we had that situation (Nixon) and I don't think that the rules have changed since then. Gerald Ford was Nixon's VP. When Nixon resigned, Ford became the president. I *think* that Ford appointed his VP.

Edit: wikipedia says that Ford nominated Rockefeller to be his VP and then Rockefeller was subject to congressional hearings and confirmation.

Joe, if you MAD
I'm GLAD!!!
This is why he had a bad night at the debate.
Houston (and even all of Texas) owes a great deal of gratitude to Joe Biden. Biden was there at San Jacinto and he personally captured Santa Anna and single-handedly killed (with a Bowie knife) a great many Mexican soldiers. He's been in many battles you know.

re: 45 ACP?

It all depends on what you want to do with it. If it's for fun shooting at the range, any decent 1911 will do just fine. On the other hand, if it's for self defense, I don't think an off-the-shelf 1911 is the right answer. Why? Because traditional (mil-spec) 1911s do not feed hollow-points well. Oh, but you can polish the feed ramp, and ..., and ...! Yes, you can do those things, but then it's not an off-the-shelf 1911! You can buy some 1911 derivatives that will feed hollow points, but they'll likely be very pricey.

Sticking with 45 ACP, but dropping 1911, opens up a bunch more options at reasonable prices. I carry a Springfield XDS in 45 ACP. No, it's not a 1911. But, it feeds hollow points just fine. It feeds anything I've put into it. It's been extremely reliable (no FTF, FTE).
