Why does this board hate Monjuni’s?

Anytime Monjuni’s is mentioned the downvotes rain down on the post. They have a fantastic menu of traditional Italian-American cuisine. It’s not too popular so anyone who likes it can still feel like a hipster. It’s locally owned and in a popular area. I don’t understand why everyone hates it. Is it the sweet sauce?

Had a terrible experience there with wrong order and when I finally got the overpriced spaghetti and meat sauce it was 10 parts noddle to 1 part sauce. The young lady "helping me" had a bad attitude. Haven't been back since and don't plan on going back.

Everyone in my family likes it. The sweet sauce may not be everyone’s thing though

We go maybe once every few months. Usually Shrimp toast or the Italian “nachos”, and salad sampler. Always good.

I like it. When I used to travel to Shreveport, I could get a plate lunch (lasagna), salad and bread for less than $10 with a glass of water.

Always delicious.

I personally like the sweet sauce, but I think that is what turns a lot of people off to the place.

Monjuni's sauce is a secret craving of mine. I don't like it all the time, but sometimes the craving hits hard and I have to secretly get some.

I like it too. I could just eat the little bowl of sauce and toast points they give you when you sit down.

I thought you could order non-sweet sauce too..?

I don’t mind the sweet sauce, it’s just that there too many much better options in town when it comes to Italian.

Sweet sauce is definitely the point of contention here. I love it though, it’s just like my grandma makes. But making a red sauce is a lot of work for an old lady, so I can get monjuni’s much more easily

I've never eaten there, but I've had the sauce and it was just too sweet for my preferences. Sort of like sweet cornbread. Some like it and some don't.

Sort of like the bread at little village. Some people think it’s too cheesy others say there is no such thing as too much cheese.

They have non-sweet sauce also so this complaint has no validation.
