If you can’t enjoy pizza in BR, then you suck as a person. GTFOH with that shite. BR has no REAL pizza. BR has no REAL BBQ. BR has no REAL Asian. I’m not claiming BR to be a culinary hub, but the food is better than mediocre all day, every day.

EVERY ONE of these are mediocre at best? You seriously cannot be happy with ONE?

Rocca
Red Zeppelin
Pizza Art Wine
Isabella’s
Rotolos
NY Pizza and Pasta
Stefanos
Schmitz and Giggles
Bistro Byronz
Ruffinos
Bistro Italia
City Slice
pizza Byronz
Digulios
Fat Boys

If you can’t enjoy at least one of these places, you just suck.

I had it a couple of times and when I go to grab a slice, that pizza is the most flop jalop in the city.

Seems like the pizzas down here they don’t get the base right. It’s either too soft which makes it flop or too hard which tastes like a cracker. From the videos I’ve seen for the pizzas(or apizza) up north, the right base is a crispy undercarriage so when you bite you hear that subtle crsppp. But at the same time, it has a chewy bread texture.

I don’t know why BR can’t get it that texture. Maybe it’s the oven, the dough, the maker, or something else.

But if you go to a lot of places in Italy, that is what you'll often get. That's why they eat pizza with a fork.

yea well the US surpassed Italy in pizza, over a century ago. There are as good of Neapolitan pizzas in podunk towns in the US as in Naples.

It's the water. Not enough olive oil in the pipes from Italians dumping it down the drain.

In all seriousness, I've seen it mentioned in many an article/video that the tap water used in different cities affects dough consistency. Baton Rouge tap water is very low in contaminants and minerals, which may be a cause of this.

I don’t for a second doubt that that’s true, which says more about BR pizza options than Whole Foods pizza quality. The best I’ve bad is at rally cap and even that is just OK.

You’ve got to get every pizza in BR well done. Kills the consistence but really good when they get it right:

Red Zeppelin
Rottolos Cracker Crust
Byronz Square
Rally Cap

Rotate between these spots but always well done and I’ve gotten decent pies but hardly ever two in a row. If I’m crazing pizza I’m going to Il Supremo.

Rotolos Craft & Crust automatically loses points because they can’t figure out how to work their TV’s. Went there last night to watch the game & I shite you not, they had Peppa Pig on. Left and went to Cheeba Hut.
