Those are the only cities/regions Michelin does ratings on in the US.

You can argue there is a reason those are the only places they choose to rate, but I don't think you can necessarily say they are the ONLY places with any restaurants worthy of a Michelin star.

I think your list is incorrect anyway. Those must be the three star places because NYC has plenty more one and two star restaurants.

Sicily Island by far

Uhh, I assume this is a troll. Sicily Island might crack the top 10 on best food cities in America. But no way it's one over all. Not enough diversity of ethnic cuisine, for staters. It's basically just a poor man's Wisner, imho.

If you are respected chef of any fame you have a resturant in Las Vegas.

I agree that New York is only answer to this but frick the Michelin star. You can't tell me they cannot find a resturant below the mason dixon that is worthy of one.

People saying NOLA are delusional. It's NY by far. That city has its own category at the James Beard awards.

C'mon people get past the biased for once.

St. Helena, California The Restaurant at Meadowood

Do you mean every Michelin 3 star restaurant? The list you gave us isn't even close to every Michelin starred restaurant in the States.

as others have said, the lack of Michelin stars doesn't really mean shite. They just omit entire geographic regions. A place like Longman and Eagle in Chicago has a Michelin Star. Youre insane if you dont think August or Commanders wouldn't receive at least one star should Michelin ever choose to expand their scope.

Was coming to post this. If America only had 12 or so places with 1 Michelin star that would be quite the indictment against the 3 cities Michelin chose to review.

Let me post this again:
Travel and Leisure Best Food Cities in U.S. Readers Poll

It's subjective. These aren't homers voting for Travel and Leisure Magazine. They have millions of readers. I guess they're all "delusional." James Beard awards are a nice honor, but they don't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. There are a number of places that have great food, but not all of the James Beard-type accolades.

Even Anthony Bourdain, who was born in New York (and was a famous chef there) , named New Orleans as the one U.S. city he thinks people should experience for the food. And although he can come off as a douche, he has gone all over the place for years strictly with a food agenda on his mind for his TV shows...

Alright so we'll take the word of a magazines reader poll and Anthony Bourdain. Those silly experts don't know what they're talking about anyway.

You'd think it would have to be NYC based upon shear volume of restaurants.
