Homemade burgers. Rather grilled, but cooked stove top or griddle top is great too.

Cast iron burgers.

My go to is a roast and gravy over rice.

I keep thinking about this and my list grows and grows. I've concluded that most food comforts me!

Anything fried - catfish, chicken, shrimp
Or anything smothered like gumbo/etoufee
Something cheesy - like Mac n cheese
1 or 2 pints of bluebell cookies and cream
Jarritos mandarin or Coca Cola classic

Mac & cheese or ice cream.

For a meal, chicken parm or chicken fried steak & gravy.

Chicken fried backstrap. When I fry it, I always have a cold beer in hand and I sample some from each batch. By the time I'm done cooking, I'm usually full from snacking so I just drink more beer while everyone else eats.

When I'm having a really crappy day, it's Pizza, so that was my immediate thought.

Giant bowl of gumbo. I make it gallons at a time so I always have some in the freezer. In 20 minutes, I can have a bowl ready to plop down in front of the TV with to watch some garbage the DVR recorded.
