Duck and oyster gumbo with cornbread and a salad (haven’t determined what I want to do with the salad yet)
Growing up the traditional meal for Christmas was always grillades and grits

That depends if it’s 81 degrees like it is now or actually December weather. If it’s cold, it’ll be a chicken and sausage gumbo. If it’s hot, I’ll grill some meats and whip some some sides.

Breakfast is homemade sourdough cinnamon rolls and Benton's bacon.
Lunch is a double smoked spiral ham with some rolls. The Christmas eve sausage and chicken gumbo on the side.
It's a laid back day with no travel or obligations.
To those of you that do multiple family functions that day, God bless you.

Pretty sure we're doing beef tenderloin again, despite the insane prices on them.
Beef Tenderloin
Green veggie - asparagus or brussell sprouts most likely
Twice baked potatoes or scalloped potatoes
Probably another undecided side.

We always had seafood gumbo and potato salad. Honey baked ham for the non-seafood people.
Last year was our first without my mother, the best seafood gumbo cook in the world, so we boiled crawfish with all the fixins. Honey baked ham and potato salad still, though.

The same as every year since my wife loves her spiral sliced ham for Christmas. I'll fix some mac & cheese to go with it and break out a bag of giblet gravy left over from Thanksgiving out of the freezer.
I'll also bake a couple sweet potatoes to have with it since I'm more inclined to eat them than the mac & cheese.

Brother's coming into town so a prime rib roast, potatoes au gratin, a token vegetable of some sort, and a pecan pie.

Standard at our house is chicken and sausage gumbo. If hot again this year will see what expensive beef I can find to grill

we're going to be living in a hotel, while waiting to move into our house.
We may have Duck L'orange and listen to, "Deck da harrs with bowers of horey".
Or we might just order one of those holiday meals from Fresh Market...
