China Doll has always been my favorite. Best egg rolls I’ve ever had anywhere. The egg roll is huge and full of pork and little shrimp and is basically a meal by itself.

Empress of China is solid too.

If I don’t have to go to the Wank, I guess 5 Happiness, and Tea Garden on Elysian Fields is really good too.

When I’m in Mandy/Cov, Trey Yuen and Northshore Empress are my spots.

Hong Minh in Harvey is good, but not a fancy restaurant.

Been my go-to for years since I moved into the Mid-City area in 92. There was also a good Chinese restaurant on Carrollton and Bienville many years ago that got taken out by Katrina.

The owner of the shopping center was an old lady and she eventually just sold the property to developers after sitting idle for a few years. Just like that Ford dealership that sold to Winn-Dixie so they could put their store across from Rouses on Carrollton Ave.

Blue Giant, Dian Xin, Little Chinatown

Five Happiness is my all-time face in the area but it has always irked me that they don't devein their shrimp

Dropped off quite a bit a few years ago when the owner/chef sold out to open an upscale place in the quarter.

Hong Mihn comes up often in convos about Chinese in NO area. Tried to go a couple times but it always seems to be closed. Not sure what the real hours are, bc the hours on the Google+ page are wrong.

For American-Chinese (IE "mall chinese") I love both
Five Happiness near Costco
Green Tea near the hospital

Blue Giant is much more authentic Chinese food, very good

Avoid Jungs, had a few bad meals and surly staff there

Little Chinatown in Kenner is decent
