I made mustard/collard mix on NYE for my guests, but I drank too much champagne and never actually tried them. They cooked for a looooooong time in bacon and stuff though, so I'm sure they were good.
I didn't cook the greens very long. They were wilted and low simmered just a bit on NYE. Warmed on NYD. They weren't crunchy, but they still had some body to them for lack of a better description. I had some at Emeril's several years ago cooked with molasses and maybe some beer. I'd have to look up the recipe. Anyway, they were cooked/wilted all the way through, but still had a bit of crunch. They were dynamite.

Coater, you gotta get the Gambino at Butcher!
Posted on 1/5/15 at 12:46 pm to iluvdatiger
Baileys Irish cream cheesecake.

The Gambino is also my favorite Butcher sandwich.

That bone marrow app is legit. I start drooling every time I think about it.

mustard greens
Always good GG and I can't do them without corn bread.
Lasagna for me, followed by leftover lasagna.

Saw it and considered it as my other option.
I'll get it next time for sure
Btw, our nye meal at the gathering was incredible. Go if you get a chance. My wife got the grouper and I got the ribeye off the special nye menu. Service was spotty at best but was still worth it. Drinks were small but tasty

Porkbelly Porchetta from Cleaver & Co.
Unbelievable! Sorry I don't have picks.

Trailer park tacos from Torchys Tacos
You got them trashy, right? Torchy's queso is like crack.
By far my favorite taco there, although I really love the fried avocado. The green chile pork is really solid too.

either the Albasha's kabob platter I had on Christmas Eve or the home made stuffed squash and grape leaves I had after New Years (SO is Lebanese).

Cook time doesn't equal good results. Somebody would have said something if they were in fact good.
ETA The best thing I ate was either the seafood sauce piquant I made New Years Day or this flan cake my aunt made for Christmas.

It's a toss up between the Sunchoke Tot and the Scotch Quail Egg at Barley Swine.

I gotta say it wasn't your best. Now that lemon ice box pie was legit. I need to come get my le Cruesets.

Went to Curry N' Kabab on the 2nd for their blacked eyed peas and cabbage on the buffet and good god, it was all delicious. That place is always amazing but it was better than ever that night, best meal I have had in a long time and I eat there at least once a week.
The best thing I ate at home was a potato casserole dish that seemed to be nothing but potatoes, butter and cream. Can't go wrong with that.

Please do. They're taking up room in my kitchen.

I think you missed the whole I drank too much champagne and passed out part. I have no idea when they were eaten. But they were eaten.
I am certain they were as good as any I've made before.
