This 100%. If it’s all made from scratch, it would certainly taste better.

Once again I have never defended the food. Were you one of the ones who claimed most of it was precooked and microwaved?

Walk-ons.

They have really raised their food game over the years. They're not the Chimes, but I actually get a craving for Walk-On's once and a while.

Having had to eat walk-ons both Sunday and Monday night I would say it is adequate table fare.

Not that I'm aware of. I haven't eaten at Olive Garden since early 2000s and doubt I ever will again.

I just know I can make a delicious alfredo at home from scratch and compare it to the one at Olive Garden, which tastes like processed junk.

If they are all scratch making sauces, it should be pretty good

They probably suck because they are throwing in bagged seasoning blends and not using fresh herbs. Also with alfredo I doubt they are using decent quality cheese. I just know they do make there sauces and soups daily and bag them up for the lunch and dinner services.

This thread got me thinking about Outback. I haven't eaten there is probably 10 years or so, but I remember their wings being huge, juicy and very tasty. Was always by far my favorite item on their menu.

Is that still the case?

Oooh, when you said wings, that made me think of T.J. Ribs. That's a place I enjoy well enough when I eat there once or twice a year, but people here HATE.

Last time I ate at Outback about 10 years ago, they dust everything with this spice blend before bringing it out. It looked like Lawry's Seasoned Salt and was all over the plate.

I didn't have the wings though, just the Alice Springs Chicken. It was okay, but I'd be fine never having it again.

Outback opened when I was a kid and the wait was consistently over an hour, so I have memories of us trying to eat there countless times and never getting in. To this day, I wouldn't be surprised if my parents have never been because they got so pissed we could never get in

I've been twice I think and both were 10+ years ago. Don't remember much about it.

I have been doing to J. Alexander's lately and dang.. that's a good chain. I even attended a birthday there recently and decided to take my chances with a steak, and it was done perfectly.

A lot of those are probably auto downvotes.

I've really enjoyed the walk-ons that opened near my office last year. It is exactly what I want it to be for lunch.

They have those rolling beer troughs lined up across the kitchen with bags of food defrosting under water

Just talked to my wife and these are actually chill tanks. The sauces/soups are made in big tilt kettles, bagged and then put in the chill tanks so their temp can be reduced to below 70 degrees within two hours.

I get the Quarter Pounder now after they changed to cooking it to order about twice a year. I mean it's McDonald's, it's not great, but if you luck out with fresh fries it's pretty good for a quick lunch.

Whataburger is opening a mile from where I live so I'm done with Mickie's unless I'm traveling.

Look in the deli case & see if your grocery store has Rana pasta sauce
They have refrigerated noodles too
Once of the better Alfredo sauces I’ve found (store bought)

Tony Chachere’s also make a spicy Alfredo seasoning
It’s in the box by the boxed rices
I don’t see it on their website

I've been to Red Lobster ONCE, because it was the only place I could find open on Christmas Day in Reno, NV after a long day of skiing. Everywhere else was closed, it was a ghost town. I had no choice.

It really wasn't bad at all. For a national seafood chain I was expecting much worse but dare I say I enjoyed it.

I don't have any specific recent examples but sometimes you'll see someone comment that the quality of the food at a certain place has gone down then a bunch of people will just repeat it as if it was there own opinion in other threads
