I think Chilis.
Yeah it's not great, you could probably make a lot of their food better at home, but we go there for cheap food and to be out of the house. The drinks aren't absurdly expensive like at some local places. The whiskey selection isn't top tier, but I'll go to a specialty bar for something like that anyway.
The skillet queso is really almost too good.

Oh, I make it all the time. She more brings up going to OG when we're in an area of town with one and it's close to meal time. And even then, it's only once every few years. I can suck it up and go that infrequently to make her happy. Their food isn't horrible to me, just not somewhere I would seek out to go to.

haven't been to Texas Roadhouse since I was a child and you could still do the peanut shell thing, but we've been wanting to go try it one night for nostalgia. I loved it as a kid.
Its our go to for family night with a bunch of kids and grandparents. Everyone has something there that they like and leaves happy.

I know it's a complete tourist trap and there are tons of better options... but. Oceana in NOLA would be a very good restaurant anywhere else. Get the blackened redfish poboy. (Not usually on menu, but all you have to do is sub blacked redfish for catfish on the blackened catfish poboy.)

We got a $200 gift card for chili's for $100, we were kitchen remodeling and it seemed like a good deal.
Just not very good food, I know we tipped the waitress about $50 on our last visit just to get rid of the card. At least she had a good time.
My question about Olive Garden is WHY? There must be 25 locally owned places in BR that are cheaper and much tastier food. I don't get it.
I stick with Walkon as my pick.

Yes it sucks and according to Jones it all comes in a bag precooked and is microwaved.

Never been. I am so glad my daughter grew up a bit and decided we no longer have to go to the OG for her birthday. Now we get to go have sushi and all is well with the universe.

Hey man I only jumped in with the mouton comment, which was in jest, because lester brought it up.
Its not a big deal to me if olive garden heats up bagged food or not.
I think its more of a joke on the board now and nobody actually cares

My only Red Lobster story. I had a claimant who lived in Alex, he had a knee injury that was legit, I knew it was going to be expensive, but I wanted to keep him away from Neblitt Beard, no sense for them to get a cut of the deal, the guy deserved every penny he had coming to him. So twice a month I'd drive up to Alex, bring him a maintenance check, take him and his wife to lunch, they always said they like RL. Not my favorite, but no problem, I wanted to keep them happy.
The case was getting close to settlement, this guy was going to get near $800K, but that's ok, cost of doing business.
I drive up to Alex one Friday, they have said the settlement is fine, their uncle the lawyer said it was good, the bartender said it was good, the next door neighbor said it was good, but they are still dragging their feet. My boss is saying WTF, I'm sick of driving to shithole Alex and eating at crappy RL, why won't they take the money and ride off into the sunset?? I heard "we have to think about it" 100 times. They are living in a POS trailer, she's gonna pop out another redneck any day not. They have eaten a cubic ton of those stupid biscuits in the last 2 years.
Finally, I realize they may be talking to a 1-800 law firm, so I figure I just have to cut my losses, I "sadly" tell them that the insurance company and my boss said if I don't settle today, I can't come every 2 weeks, the checks will stop.
The guy says he wants to sign right now, I explain I made arrangements with a local law to handle the release and give him his check as soon as we go there, it's 5 minutes away.
While I'm paying the bill for lunch, I ask him why it took so long to decide, he could have had he money weeks ago.
"It's like this Mr Andouille, we really look forward to having these lunches with you, you're a nice man and fun to talk to, we're sorry that we won't be seeing you anymore. Hell, if you had took us to a place better this, I might still be holding out."
Well f*ck me.
