Lentil soup and a hunk of crusty bread slathered with butter.
It's cold here, so spiked eggnog for dessert.

Friend,
Cousin visited Uncle this weekend, but Uncle had to catch a flight this evening, so our departure meal was at Kenner Seafood. We got our meals to go because it does not seem a safe idea to eat around others during this time. I got the #1, #4, and #6 items from TulaneLSU's Top 10 dishes at Kenner Seafood.
The shrimp were perfect. The artichokes may well be the greatest artichoke dish east of the Mississippi. I am still trying to decide if KS's artichoke is better than that which I had in Castroville, CA after playing a round at Pebble Beach. Castroville bills itself as the artichoke capital of the world, and for good reason. The artichoke in Carmel may be better than Kenner.
We needed a place to eat, so with the cool front passing today, I thought it would be a nice time to eat outdoors. Uncle was, in case you were wondering, already dropped by this point. I told Cousin that I found a great snoball stand in Kenner. In fact, Flavors on Vintage found the #8 position in TulaneLSU's Top 10 snoballs. It is not well known, but the ice is near perfect, the sauce plentiful, and the selections almost without peer.
Sitting, praying, and talking with Cousin as the sun set was splendid. I hope you all had as wonderful a meal.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Defrosted some braised pork shoulder which is quite possibly the least photogenic meal in existence. Cabernet.
Bonus pics of last night’s meal which was much prettier.

One of my favorite dinners. Cheese plate and a bottle of wine makes for the most relaxing night ever.

Made an appetizer of chanterelle crostinis, then chicken thighs roasted in the oven using Jacque Pepin's cast iron recipe along with prosciutto wrapped asparagus bundles also roasted in the oven.
Got the prosciutto from Terra di Siena out of Virginia who makes his own cured meats from scratch using his family's recipes from Italy. Was damn good.

Left over dominos and way too many beers.
I took all next week off and felt like being lazy.

Yes - Girls night Soji and axe throwing. It was the final day of restaurant week and their menu had 3 savory courses instead of sticking you with a dessert. I enjoy that.
