Time for a debate - Best fast food burger of all times

A little ground rules:
- It cannot be more than $6
- It can be one from the past
- It has to be a national chain, not some local mom & pop shop
- It has to be direct from a menu, no special add-ons, etc
Would you consider Whataburger a national chain? There’s 707 in Texas, but less than 150 everywhere else, mostly in the south, none further north than Tenn and Missouri.
I’m gonna get a lot of downvotes, but I gotta say:
Sonics classic double cheese burger. It has that old fashion, classic, drive-thru burger taste
A close second was the McDLT (hot side hot, cold side cold). I think it was the first time McD ever put mayo on one of their burgers.

Sonic is only in 44 states, so by your parameters, is it a National chain? Change your parameters to read “a large chain”.

The Whopper of about 25 years ago.

The one that gives me whatever I want because I spend money with them

I agree, the Whopper of old was hard to beat. Except by the double Whopper w/cheese…

Fast track or Cajun blaze, neither are “national chains” but oh well

Old, fast track. Current probably Rally's.

Too many BR options to narrow down a choice.

The 1/2lb flamethrower from DQ is the best fast food burger available. The best chain burger is the Monterey burger from whataburger but it doesn’t get sold at all whataburger, just Texas ones.

A double whopper from about 30 years ago from Burger King after football practice.

Weren't they more than $6? If not, then it wins. If we can't count 5 Guys, then Wendy's double for me.

Five Guys isn't exactly Fast Food and is quite pricey. I'm prepared for the down votes but I like a Double Double from In N Out.

Burger Chef when they had the condiment bar.

When Wendy's first came out they were awesome.
Gigantic juicy square patties and fresh ingredients.
Their "where's the beef" commercials were spot on, they had twice the meat of a McDonalds burger.

I have always received my food in under 10 minutes. I think that is fast compared to 30-45 minute waits in the McDonalds drive thru sometimes.

The little burger is $5.65.
