For those who have been to both, which one is better? Going to Dallas this weekend and haven't been to a Brazilian steakhouse before. Went to O'hana at the Polynesian in Disney World a few months ago and that's about the closest experience I've had to that type of restaurant. Just by doing some quick searches it appears Fogo may have a little bit of an edge (quality of meat), although I'm reading TDB has the better and bigger salad bar. The ol Lady is preggo and she really likes tres leches cake which Fogo has I believe so I'm leaning towards that. Just checking the F&D board opinions on these two places.

Searched a couple threads about these two restaurants. Save the comments about over salted meats. I see nothing wrong with experiencing it at least once.

I prefer Texas de Brazil but they are very similar. there is a place in frisco which is a north suburb of dallas that is the best of the 3 IMO called Estilo Gaucho

Have fun with the meat sweats

You won't go wrong with either for bulk decent meat

If it's your first time to TDB then you can get $25 off your meal by signing up online before you go.
Just incase that swings the decision a tad.

I agree with this assessment. the TDB salad bar has a great lobster bisque.

But when I go to these places, I stick to meat, and I give edge to FDC.

You can do the same with Fogo, but they also send they more frequently. Probably once every 6 weeks or so. TBD didn't do that for me, and they got rid of the free birthday meal.

When's the next trip to FDC?

Anything on the books?

FDC by a long shot... Based on my experience of FDC in ATL vs TDB in Tampa.

Better salad bar, more diverse selection of meats and less heavily salted IMHO.

I'm sure it varies by location, but every time the discussion comes up it seems like Fogo wins pretty easily.

Restaurants don't automatically suck because they are chains.

I've only been to TdB in BR. The salad bar there is outstanding. It's more than a salad bar. The lobster bisque on the bar is quite good. The meat is too salty and all you can eat meat doesn't excite me anyway. I would return to eat at the salad bar only. I wish more places had such a nice salad bar.

Agree about the chain theory.

I like them both but have enjoyed Texas de Brazil more. It's a very nice option for dinner.

All I know is that ever time I fly I see the 20 adverts in the Airline mag and want to eat at all of them. But living two miles from one, I have no desire. Just like I don't drink tomato juice at home. Or eat a Chili's. Or bang black hookers. Some things are just for travel.

whichever one is in Perkins Rowe in BR is the only one I've ever been to. The salad bar was amazing, everything else was disgusting

I was on the can the whole next day

as I recall it was pretty expensive also
