Curious what the board’s opinion is on who has the best poboy in BR and surrounding areas.

I’m not a poboy snob by any means. I enjoy the poboy at Frank’s and feel as if its a good value. I had a roast beef poboy from Po-Boy Express and thought it was good, but the quantity of roast beef was disappointing. Hot Tails in Prairieville has a pretty good shrimp poboy and their “spillway sauce” is really good.

I haven’t lived in BR in a decade, but the one I consistently go back to is George’s shrimp poboy. Nothing unique about it, but it’s usually good.

Rocco’s Po Boy is pretty good too, especially the RB. Not as good as some mentioned in the New Orleans area. And Jed’s is good too. Anthony’s and Cantannatella on Government St both have good meatball Poboys. And Poccorella for their MB.

Save More Market on Nicholson in 1999 after being done with classes at 1130 on a Friday, get a long one and 24 cheap beers and hit up whatever BREC course we wanted to. I am sure that location is gone now.

Not sure if it's the best, but I'll add the "sweet tails" poboy at Capital City Crawfish. Their rb is solid too; not sure if they still make it.

Has anybody had PoBoy USA off of Florida? I drove by it the other day and never heard of it, looked it up and it has 4.5/5 stars on google with almost 275 reviews. Looked at the menu it seems like a decent place

I actually think it is still open, but that area has vastly changed from 1999 if you were walking there after school back then. It's pretty sketchy and students don't make it down that way.

This is my neighborhood poboy shop and its really good. Its family run and the inside is very clean. The fried shrimp is great and my kids love the popcorn chicken. I’ve had the roast beef but it’s been years. Wife usually gets the catfish or a turkey and ham. Both are great. Also, their fountain drinks hit different, almost like a McDonalds coke.

I recall Save More as having large PBs - prob not the highest quality, but a major bang for the buck. I also recall they had banners in the store regarding specials as they were (are?) a meat market as well. Such as the (can't recall names of specials) but say the Working Man's Special - something like 10 lbs of hamburger meat, 10 sirloin steaks, 10 lbs of pork sausage, 10 lbs of pork chops, 10 lbs of pork ribs, 5 lbs of bacon, and..........a carton of MB reds (or a case of Natural Lite).

In BR - George's.

Don't know if Coffee Call still does lunch, but their French Dip was the best.

Surrounding area - Fat Daddy's in Plaquemine.

Technically not a poboy, but Rouj Creaole has a Fried Oyster BLT that they served with a bacon/onion jam and it is fantastic.
