Yes, they are. I have a few of them.
That said, I do prefer (from a simplicity stand point of cleaning) using my Heritage Steel and Made In stainless steel pans more often.

Griswold for the win.

I look for old BSRs. They cook as well as the Griswolds and Wagners and you can find them at estate sales and Goodwill and redo them however you want.

Anybody try a Stargazer?

Honest question here:
What is the difference? I use my lodges and do pretty well. Am I missing some magic cooking hack?

I have a Stargazer. It’s fine, I use it often.

You're missing that $220 price tag, that's for sure.
But as far as functionality over the Lodge? Absolutely not.
You can, however, get it engraved so there's that.

Smithey’s are the “Supper Club” of cast iron skillets.

I have a few and love them. Ergonomic and clean up very easy.

Weight and ergonomics on the carbon steel pans.
They also look pretty nice.
Are they worth the price? To each their own. Lodge makes a great pan/pot but I the carbon steel ones I have just have sharper edges and handles that aren't as good.

"Field" has been my favorite for a while now in the pricey cast iron pots and pans.

Griswold for the win.
That being said, I have been gifted many Lodges over the years. I will always take them and polish the cooking surfaces and then strip/reseason them and they are pretty damned good. I may get a Smithy one day but I can’t justify the price.
