Lookin for a good store bought wing rub. I've been using Meat Church Gospel for a while and just looking to try something different.

If I'm using a sauce, I just do salt, pepper, garlic powder and a little cayenne.

No sauce, I usually use Killer Hogs hot rub

Last time I smoked wings I used Trader Joe's South African Smoke seasoning and it came out well.

Did 4 types to test out our air fryer (smoked the wings, then air fried). The concensus was TJ's South African > S+P+G > Tony's > TJ's Chili Lime

I like Jonesy-Q XTC rub. But I’m not sure if it’s available where you are.

Sounds interesting. Can you describe the spices in it?

Ratio : 1 Slap ya mama, 1/4 paprika ; 1/4 garlic powder; 1/4 black pepper

For 20 wings—-toss in 2 table spoons of worsteshire and 2 table spoons of red wine vinegar. Poor off excess after tossing. Rub the dry mixture above in the wings. Let sit over night.

Meat Church Honey Hog is killer on wings. They carmalize with a little direct head and are crazy good. Huge crowd pleaser.

They make a Honey Hog Hot, but they used powdered jalapeño which is I guess What a Texan would use. I am Always temped to add a little cayenne to regular honey hog.

And maybe dip them in Mayo when they come off the grill?

But yes, IMO, Holy Gospel is the best AP rub out there. I love it.

It's a very simple spice mix. The ingredient list in order is.

Paprika flakes, sea salt, garlic, basil.

No clue what makes it "South African", but it's really good and mild. I think we liked it the best because of the lower salt content.

I’ve never thought about cavender’s on wings, but I love it on fries and veg. I’ll have to give it a shot. This thread has brought up stuff in the back of my brain that I haven’t used in a couple years. Old bay wings are pretty tasty, as well.

If in BR Red Stick slice has a lot of good stuff. Tandoori, bourbon pecan, etc.

Wings about 3 bucks a pop now might as well splurge on the seasoning.
