Kalurah Street Grill is hosting a parade party that's $100 per person and ends at 3. They might be open for dinner, but it also kinda looked like they were closing entirely at 3. So youd have to see.

I second the Stroubes suggestion. I've had some really good meals there.

Y'all must be out of your minds to suggest someplace near the overpass on St. Pats Day. That area will be a shitshow until 3 AM. Stay away.

Good point. I'd book Gino's.

second this, might be a little nice if you are going to be hammered at the parade.

If you really want to go downtown, try Stroube's or Cocha.

Or uber somewhere else, like Gino's or Zorba's.

I would definitely avoid anything in the overpass area unless you want to get into a shitshow.

Everything in the Overpass area is usually closed that night. I would Uber to Gino's.

I'd go to Cocha after drinks at Blend or Draft House.

The wife and I enjoyed the restaurant inside the Watermark Hotel. The pork and oyesters dish was excellent. Here's their menu: LINK

Cocha.

I've seen a couple of people suggest this. I went there pretty soon after it opened and had a TERRIBLE meal/experience.

Was that just because they were working out some of the kinks? Has anyone had a good experience there?

Truthfully I haven't been yet, but I have heard good things from several people.

Oh, I forgot about Cocha.
We ate there twice in the past month or two. Both times it was excellent. Good service. The duck gnocchi is great. Collard green dolmas were very good - the sauce underneath was tasty. Really, everything we had was good, except for the garlic knots, which were a little bland and doughy.

Glad this thread is producing options. We used to hit Stroube's , mostly good experiences, but have not been in years.

Thread hijack:
Who the hell is going to pay $100 to go to a private party under the Perkins Overpass? Are they including parking or Uber in this? If I had more money than sense and signed up for the thing, I would be pounding drinks to get my money's worth. Like I would double-fist all day.
I really hate that Chelsea's is gone and I have zero desire to eat at Kalurah Street because I'm ticked off at what went down.

I said the exact same thing. Especially since it closes at 3:00PM, which is not long after the parade ends. Who is going to pay $100 to party until 3, and then have to leave and go spend money elsewhere if they want to party still? And how many people are really consuming $100 worth of alcohol before 3pm? I typically bring my own beer for the early part of the day.

Kalurah is fantastic, foodwise. Unless I am uninformed, I didn't think they had anything to do with Chelsea's landlord issues..?

They didn't have anything to do with the landlord issues. I'm just ticked that Chelsea's is gone and don't want to patronize what replaced it. It's stupid. I know that. But it's how I feel. Maybe I'll get over it.

It's all you can eat/drink

I guess for people with money that don't want to deal with the absurd crowds at places like Ivars and Schlitz

ETA: K street is very good. I miss Chelsea's too but we got a very good meal there

I balked at the price too but on second thought, they're probably trying to keep it from becoming a madhouse, which I can't blame them for.
