Hunting in the Heat
Posted by Fulwar on 9/28/23 at 1:14 pm
Seeing the forecast in the 90’s opening weekend of bow season in South Mississippi is a little discouraging.
Any good stories or experiences of deer hunting in this kind of heat?

re: Tort (Legal) Reform is by far the biggest issue in the Louisiana Governor’s race

Simply changing the law to prevent WC claimants from choosing their own doctor for WC purposes would have a huge positive impact on the state’s economy.
Amen, brother! This single issue would save hundreds of thousands of dollars per claimant for LA businesses. This is also one of the biggest and most lucrative rackets in the legal/medical industries.
There’s a reason why the same docs are sought on comp claims. This is absolutely needed.

$1.83 a piece… damn this inflation! Or maybe I am just getting old. Cheers!

I partook in that cheap brew as well as a young man. I believe a six pack was less than $5. This was circa 2005/6.
Haven’t seen it since. What did it set you back?

Lotta baseball left to play.

Would make for an amazing comeback story if Money came in and shut Wake down.

It has become brazen and clear that they (the political class)knowingly do insanely absurd/destructive things like this and say, “what are you going to do about it?”
What can you do with corrupt law enforcement agencies, compromised DA’s and self serving politicians?
There may be an answer in history from about 247 years ago…

Been experiencing RLS the last couple of years on and off. The best thing I have found is to get at least 10k steps a day and/or a good workout in.
I can really feel it at night after a long drive. It’s really frustrating and hope you can find a remedy soon.

Here comes the redemption of Money!… would make for a great story.

Time to get it going. They’re seeing the pitches, just need some breaks.
This is an incredibly interesting topic and believe it would be worth pursuing for several reasons. One possibility:
Primarily, those “progressive” places would bankrupt themselves within a generation. Afterwards, the “non-progressives” would acquire that area under conservative ideology and law. Thus, the original republic is restored in a very round about way.
Then, the process starts a new and in another 200 or so years another reformation plays out.

Bow only for small tract
Posted by Fulwar on 12/7/22 at 2:17 pm
I have a 45 acre lease in Leake Co., MS. It’s surrounded by large hunting clubs 40+ members at at least 3 clubs. There’s in excess of 20,000 acres around this land with 7,000 contiguous acres behind the lease.
Just a buddy and I hunt. We’ve decided to bow hunt only so as to keep pressure down, but I’m rethinking that approach given the lack of increased activity since gun season started.
Should bow only be maintained or is the property too small worry with surrounding hunting pressure, therefore, it doesn’t matter what we use. TIA

I’m in a similar situation as well and am interested as to what has worked for others. Is half an acre the smallest area worth the time and cost for a food plot?
If so, have you found it best to just use feed (corn, rice bran, protein pellets, etc.) ?

I’m encouraged by these responses. I just ordered the Dolphin Nautilus CC yesterday and hoping it works better than the old Polaris I have. It’s just not cutting it anymore.

I’m actually encouraged a state wide elected official actually had the balls to publicly state this and in no veiled sense.
I hope the rest follow suit and actually stand up for themselves and us, their constituents.
Hats off to you Sec. Ardoin.

re: If you were in college today what would you study

Trick question. I would forgo college/massive debt and learn a technical trade… probably HVAC. I would then sell my business at 40 and retire with my millions.
Too many examples of this in south Louisiana alone to ignore.

This certainly helps to partially explain the recent loosening of restrictions. Hopefully, this will be the first of many dominoes to fall showing the intentional push for experimental gene therapy and the intentional deception of the federal government and medical industry.
Strong suspicion things will get much worse in this regard.

re: Louisiana Department of Health whistleblower claims covid cases inflated for profit

What’s also disturbing are hospitals knowingly colluding with state and federal authorities to inflate Covid numbers for profit. Think of the ripple effects of this: cancers go undiagnosed, heart conditions go untreated and a litany of other procedures were postponed or abandoned to focus on an artificial crisis.
The health industry is proving to be just as culpable as the political elite who pushed this fraudulent and grossly over exaggerated virus.
