got it.
My statement was not meant to be a calorie for calorie tradeoff. Just making the point that just because it is lower volume doesn't mean lower calories. A normal pour of wine is a much as a "normal" BMC beer.

3. Overweight and ok with it.
I'm technically overweight. 6' / 205lb / 32 year old. I have put on 30 lbs over the last 3 years due to craft beer consumption, eating out, quitting smoking, age, stress, not running as much, etc. My weight is distributed pretty well that I don't have a gut that hangs over my belt or a double chin. And my wife is good about keeping me in check if I've gone on a bender and look bigger I'll lay off booze for a few days and get a few runs in until I'm back to normal.
All in all it's about finding a good balance between being mentally/emotionally happy (beer helps this) vs. watching your health (not being severely overweight or inactive and risking disease). And of course you have to throw in there maintaining a body type that a woman would still allow to writhe naked upon her.

I switched to red wine. Beers are now occasional treats for me. I'm 39, 5'11", 180 lbs. I'm down 30 lbs. from when I was an all beer all the time guy.

Just left the Dr. Appt. Healthy as a horse. Clocked in 6-5 1/4" and 232. I apparently shrunk a quarter inch but dropped 11 lbs since last visit. I'd like to think mid tier IPA's, Bud Light, Dewars and Old Charter.

Exactly this. Although I could definitely stand to lose a few.
Recent physical says I'm healthy as a horse BP and cholesterol wise and I've picked up on exercising since I was there last.

I can think of one or two that definitely don't buy all their beer, at least not when they say they do. But those are well-timed trolls and always bring the laughs.

Dandy Lion? He posts beer pics from the beach that are at suspect times of day.

I think he's like a Spaniard. They do time different than us.

Nah, he's probably legit. He just uses stock photos from the googles. He catches hell about it every so often.

We're close to the same height, but I got you by about 40 lbs. I am planning on losing that 40 lbs. by next summer. I rarely drink more than 1-2 per day, so I try to make them count. Some days I have only 1. Some days I don't have any.
My problem is not beer consumption, but snacking. I work in an environment where there are a lot of temptations sitting around. Sometimes I do well with that, sometimes, not so much.

Snacking on bad carps will do it to you too. Second biggest thing in my weight loss after cutting beer was cutting out the crappy chips and other carp snacks. Good luck.

I saw his FBD thread today. He did the hit and run. Major FBD faux pas.
Sorry for the derail TIA. For your question, I do not drink during the week (however, there are exceptions sometimes) and stick to water. I eat healthy most of the time, but that is really just what I prefer -- I love fruit and vegetables.
On weekends, I let loose on drinking. Lately, my beer intake has taken a hit while I have been exploring the world of bourbon and scotch.

No worries. I'm not that guy. Conversation flows.

Wow, some of y'all are little. How are y'all drinking four 7% beers and waking up in the morning? I am 5' 10" and about 180. If I have more than two 7% beers I feel it the next day, if I have four I am hurting. As the abv goes up my consumption must go down. I'm down about 10 lbs this summer due to getting a lot more riding time on my bike in and running on the days I don't ride to stay in riding shape. I probably ride 50 miles a week in the mtns and run 15-20 miles a week so i doubt I could eat or drink enough to gain weight while keeping that up. Of course if I drank more then the hangover would decrease my exercise time and distance.
