Anyone ever cook pork steaks? These are easily my new favorite thing to cook on my pellet grill. I used to like smoking some pulled pork but I find myself enjoying these even more.

I cut up some boston butts for Jambalaya meat, and with the extra, I made some ~3/4" steaks. Seasoned with my favorite rubs, and I smoked them at ~225 until they are about 175-180 internal. Delicious!

I usually do a revere sear like I do with steaks. Salt and pepper, little bit of garlic powder and a flaming hot pan with butta

They had a bbq place in a gas station near my house in college that had legit bbq. Pork steak + 2 sides was the cheapest plate they had. I ate the hell out of pork steaks during college. I absolutely love them but haven't cooked them since then. Need to change that.

hell yeah, one of my favorites. I did some last week. I like to smoke them and then freeze in vac bags. I'll sous vide and finish on the grill for quick dinners.

While those look fantastic, I like mine cooked down in a gravy.

I need to get a meat saw at the house so I can cut butts up into steaks. I became acquainted with pork steaks sometime in the early 2000s as a poor college kid. The local butcher would have them pre seasoned and for my money there ain't much better than a pork steak reverse seared. Sadly that butcher has been closed for over a decade now.

My favorite method. 1 min each side if by land, 2 min each side if by sea.

Pan fried pork chops with a side of cold apple sauce.

Greatest cheap eat dishes you can savor.

One of the main reasons I got my Chud box. Will be one of the first cooks I do when I get home.

Big fan of them here.
Ether on the pit or in a hot cast iron skillet on the stove.
I like them about an inch thick.

Grew up on BBQed pork steaks pulled off an Old Smokey.

Just like someone else above said, I cook them at least once a month (usually twice a month). One iteration BBQed, other iteration is in a grease gravy till they fall apart. Eat them over rice.

A guilty pleasure of mine is a Sunday BBQ pork steak plate lunch, I feel like every rural gas station/store has the same offering every Sunday, never met a pork steak I didn't like.

Ask the butcher to cut you up a Boston butt. I get them cut 2” thick and they are a hit.
Here are some I did. I cook them over hardwood and baste them with a mop sauce every 44 minutes to an hour. Cook them to about 170 . They take about 5-6 hours.

I have always loved a good pork steak. Cook it hot and fast over some hardwood charcoal. Good eats!
