I also don't understand dog owners who think they can come to my house with their dogs in tow when invited to a party

Oh yeah, that would not be good. Luckily it’s well known that we have cats. I’d never bring my dog somewhere without explicitly being invited to do so. And even then, I’d only bring her if it was a situation where the person is out of town and I don’t have a dog sitter.

Dogs in public don’t really bother me, so I don’t feel passionately either direction. But it seems like a pain in the arse to deal with. Also, as mentioned, Bulldog patio is covered in shards of glass if you look around. I’d never bring a dog there.

Again, dogs >>> kids

Most kids should never be produced and dogs have more social skills

People who think that taking a dog to a restaurant is a good idea shouldn't be allowed to either:

1) Own a dog

or

B) Go to a restaurant

Exactly. Maybe they’re trolling?

I can guarantee you I'm not trolling. Dogs in public are not a problem for me in general. But I feel there is a time and place for everything. It's only when they are brought around where food and drink are being served that it gets my goat.

Believe me, not all dogs are well behaved, just like not all dog owners are equipped to train them to be well behaved.

I mean we aren't talking about bringing your dog to Ruth's Chris or anything. The dog isnt breathing or shitting in your food or drinks. I don't get how this can cause such a stir with people. This all assumes your dog is well behaved and trained.

I brought my golden retriever to Red Zepellin Friday with my wife. He laid there and hung out. Few kids came over to pet him. We ate and drank and enjoyed the weather then left...Is that an issue?

In most places where dogs are allowed on the patio, the dogs are FAR better behaved and less disruptive on average than are children under 10 years old. That much I can tell you.

Lol god forbid somebody stop and grab a beer after a run with their dog.

I do this all the time in dallas at the Katy Trail Icehouse and so do 10,000 other people each week.

It’s definitely a little odd to me when people kid up in the truck with their dog and drive 10 miles to go eat outside, but even then I’m not going to think down on someone for getting their dog out of the house to socialize.

When we go to the vet my kids are FAR better behaved and less disruptive than the dogs. But the dogs belong there, as do the kids at the restaurant. This isn't that complicated bob.

I do it all the time and I’m about as far from a hipster as can be. I’ve also done it for 40 years and I’m guessing the complainers are also the ones that give me looks when my lab is in the back of the truck. At least I took the gun rack out of the rear windshield. Although that was more of a theft issue rather than a politically correct one.

And I’m assuming the same. I don’t have a pit bull on a chain. My dogs are like my children, well behaved, which is why I will sit OUTSIDE on a patio with them.

If they hate dogs this much I can imagine the disgust for the smokers on the patio.

Have strong dislike for parents that let their friggin' kids run and scream non-stop at restaurants. Those parents are pathetic.

I love going to restaurants that allow dogs. I get to see a bunch of cute dogs, and assholes like you are more likely stay away.

Those takes are always the worse

Also for the weird dogs>kids people

I have never heard many stories of a kid killing others by eating their face off nor have i ever seen one shite on the floor of a restuarant or taken food off someone elses table. So i disagree

ETA: I have brought my dogs to places. And my kids. But stop being weird freaking dog owners that compare your animal to a human

Nah, kids use other means to kill kids instead of their teeth. Someone who would let their dog take food from tables et al are the same type who let their kids misbehave at length in restaurants. There are baby sitters for the kids of irresponsible parents. There are plenty of out of touch dog owners, not saying that isn't the case, and if you aren't going to handle your dog responsibly leave it at home.

Where the frick are you people eating? Maybe it’s the establishment you hang out in. Never once have I seen a dog eat off a table or take a shite on the floor. And I’ve seen people bring dogs to outdoor patios all my life-this isn’t some new phenomena.

Y’all can make up some shite.
