Joe’s Pizza was our favorite. There is a location near Time Square, but it doesn’t have any character. Worth it to take the subway to the one on Carmine Street in the Village.

I recently saw a Ray Romano standup special from the Comedy Cellar. At the end, he and his family walked to Joe’s on Carmine for a slice. Good endorsement.

Just know that John's on Bleeker only sells whole pizzas. So if you in a hurry and looking for a slice, a place like Joe's would be better.

Good choice if you can wait, even though it’s not traditional NY style pizza.

Guy has a show on VICE that is only pizza and gives Rec’ s on different places. Not sure if these are by you but he does a good job and got plenty of shows to cycle through.

John's Times Square --in the old church--is great and right near where you'll be!

John's on Bleecker and Bleecker St Pizza are good and in a cool area. If you are going with females, both of these places are about a 2 minute walk from where Taylor Swift lived/wrote a song about. There's a never ending stream of young women posing for pictures in front of her old place. Really cool neighborhood with other fun things to do/see.

Patsy's up in East Harlem is fantastic. Make sure you go to this location. The one on 2nd Ave is good, but this one is better.

Lombardi's on Spring Street claims to be America's first pizzeria or something. It's pretty good and is in an interesting area. Rubirosa is right around the corner and I think their pies are slightly better. It tends to be more crowded because people love instagramming the food there.

All of these places are easily accessible from the various subway lines.

John's if you want a whole pie; Bleecker street if you want a slice.

Step 1: Find a dead cat.
Step 2: Swing the dead cat.
Step 3: Eat at whichever pizza joint you hit with the dead cat.

Two that haven't been mentioned are Mama's Too and Williamsburg Pizza (get the grandma squares there). Both are a couple of miles from TS but I assume you won't always be there.

If you go to Williamsburg get the applewood bacon...

I've had Lucali and it was awesome but it was a three hour wait. When I go back, I'm hitting the One Bite Pizza Apps places that are in the 8's. When Dave rates something in the 9s those places get crazy busy. Too many great pizza places in that area to have to wait that long.
