The wife (MHNBPF) fixed us a breakfast plate with half an apple, some sort of rosemary crackers and cheddar cheese this morning. To finish it off, she lightly salted the apples - which is the way I like them.

As I rubbed the excess salt off the plate to eat it I wondered how many people are there who don't like salty stuff?

Opinions?

I don't particularly like salt, and have started cooking a lot more of my own soups and such because everything is so salty.

I like salt, but I have to limit it due to health reasons. Now that I have been managing my intake, I find that some foods that I used to like, taste way too salty now.

Love salt, maybe a bit too much----well, according to the Mrs. anyway who really doesn't like salt near as much as me.

You like salt on your apples so may I suggest you give this little treat I love to eat as a refreshener after working up a sweat.

Cut the apple in bitesize slices, place them in a bowl and add salt and black pepper to taste then sprinkle a bit of olive oil and balsamic vinegar on them and toss to coat them all. Refrigerate that to get good and cold and enjoy when ready.

I also sprinkle salt on watermelon when I cut them up in bite size squares.

I am a salt guy, but wouldn't like it on my apples or any fruit for that matter.

Salt on watermelon is where it's at.

I don’t care for salty stuff
Tostitos lightly salted has been a game changer for me
Any other plain or tortilla chip tastes way over salted to me now

I like salt but I have to minimize the salt intake to keep my blood pressure in normal range.

Food can be too salty, especially at restaurants. But I do like a salty pretzel or potato chip.

I’m not sure how you could eat a fresh tomato without salt. Makes it 100% better. I get how some like it more than others, but not sure how someone could not like it at all.

Back in the day, my dad would put salt in his Falstaff beer. Never got a clear explanation as to why?

I like contrasting sweet and salty. On a spread like that, I'd think (for me at least, since you asked) the cheese and crackers are salty enough to offset the sweet (unsalted) apples.

You’d be better off losing weight and cutting down on processed foods.

Never really cared for salt.

Never really cared for bacon.

Hate okra.

Hate beets.

Hate cauliflower.

Everyone acts like its criminal when I tell em.

I ove spicy but do not like too much salt. Lately, I have found the Mediterranean places I like are salting the fuq out of their food. To the point where I want to ask for no salt. I've had other things too lately that have just been too damn salty. Every place has salt on the table so cooks and chefs, chill out with the salt.

I feel bad for you that this

is your breakfast. But from reading your posts here enough I know that you're a good fella that Momma is just trying to take care of and there's nothing wrong with that.

I don’t care for salt on fruit. Grew up with salt eaters and was always the odd one out. My sister used to literally eat like a teaspoon of salt by itself. Now I find that anything with more than a small amount leaves me feeling funny with my blood pressure.

I’m the total opposite. Give me a salty/savory dish over a sugary one. Dessert just isn’t appealing to me. I don’t hate dessert, I just never have a desire to eat it.

My idea of dessert is oysters or charcuterie.

Love briney, salty, and pickled food items like olives, oysters, and nuts.

Is rather have a plate of cured meats and cheeses than a confectionary concoction.
